Opinion | The Cornell case continues to dominate the news, but the issues being debated prove that we have a long way to go before any woman is safe, on campus or in the real world. bostonherald.com/2026/10/19/…
When a woman says she didn’t consent, that’s it. Case closed. The investigation is over - let a jury decide if they believe her beyond a reasonable doubt. Women have a constitutional right of redress under the 1st Amendment. Let the jury-NOT patriarchal politics-decide. #Cornell
As a law professor who has been teaching Sexual Violence law for decades I’m shocked by the total lack of knowledge about rape law in this country. Rape law PERMITS rather than prohibits rape bc rape/porn/trafficking is a trillion dollar industry. Its always about money #Cornell
Porn industry PAYS social media nuts to lie about #Cornell case bc the industry makes a fortune from uploaded videos of campus rapes. The paid liars will say a man’s “mistake” about consent is a valid defense. LIE! In MA & MANY STATES a Perp’s claim of mistake is NOT a defense.
Rape cases are easy to prove. If the victim says she didn’t consent, that’s it-case closed. Perp’s *opinion* of a victim’s consent is irrelevant BECAUSE the victim alone owns her body & decides who touches her. Doesn’t matter what he thinks. Only matters what he does. #Cornell
Community note
Rape cases require proving every element (including lack of consent per statutory definitions) beyond a reasonable doubt; a victim's statement is evidence but does not automatically close the case, and a perpetrator's reasonable belief about consent is often relevant.

Affirmative consent is a stupid standard that does nothing to stop rape. In fact, it makes things worse for women bc it allows schools to consider a perp’s opinion of a woman’s consent. Nobody cares about a rapist’s OPINION of a woman’s consent. She alone decides how she feels.
No. Everything would never have happened if schools treated violence against women with the seriousness that apply to violence against Black people, Asians, Jews, etc. But Women lack basic legal equality so of course they aren’t safe on campus. Tell the truth @thenation#cornell
Notice how women never line up to gang rape a guy. Men do it to women all the time. Why do you suppose that is? Take a wild guess. The answer starts with P and rhymes with corn. The other correct answer is money. Men make a fortune on the dark web selling videos of their crimes.
#TitleIX is crap. Higher ed lobbied against adding Women to Title VI so in 1972 Women got a separate and unequal law instead. Schools have been underenforcing it ever since. Here’s the truth in a leading academic journal: nacua.org/resource/krakauers…
Cornell University's handling of an alleged fraternity house gang rape is raising questions about how a decades-old federal civil rights law shapes colleges' treatment of campus sexual assault.

If you actually care about rape on campus you will read this piece. It explains why no school ever does anything meaningful to stop rape or any violence against women. @Cornell#cornellnacua.org/resource/krakauers…
Drunk criminals get no discounts. Drunk victims are not criminals.
Drunk murderers get no discounts. Their drunk victims get compassion for being vulnerable.
See the difference yet?
If you take a woman’s money without her 100% knowing, intelligent and voluntary consent, it’s larceny. If you take her bodily autonomy without her 100% knowing, intelligent and voluntary consent, it’s rape.
Not complicated -
@cornell#Cornell7
All rape is the same in that it is an unwanted intrusion into the intimate self. Supreme Court says it’s the most severe harm to the self short of homicide. #Cornell7 nothing more is needed but if there IS more, such as drugging, weapons, etc., then it’s aggravated rape. Easy
This is a PR talking point. Victim’s lawyer creates plausible reason to dismiss based on victim’s distress but real reason is cash. This whole media campaign was a PR squeeze play. Bad press til a big offer comes in & then victim’s lawyer makes up a non-cash reason to dismiss.
The woman now known to America as Cornell's Jane Doe is increasingly scared for her own safety, her attorney Thomas Giuffra said to CNN as he detailed his client's deteriorating mental state after an escalating series of violent threats. cnn.it/4yzwRQf
#Cornell7 victim’s lawyers must be spending a fortune on PR to squeeze 10 figure settlement. Will @Cornell ride it out or pay her off? Settlement seems close bc media narrative is now focused on victim facing threats at home. Perfect set up for dismissing the case for big bucks.
