As Chair of #WSIS Forum 2026, Egypt brought the WSIS message to #UNGA during Digital@UNGA, calling for an implementation decade—turning roadmaps, capacity-building, technical assistance, and financing into impactful results, featuring Assistant Minister Eng. Mahmoud Badawi.

At #UNGA81, the WSIS community came together for “Building an Inclusive Future for All: The WSIS Action Lines as a Framework for Global Digital Cooperation” to advance action and implementation, drawing on the experience and perspectives of those working to make digital cooperation work for all. Multistakeholder cooperation is key to strengthening implementation roadmaps, sharing solutions and delivering meaningful impact for people and communities — with the full and active participation of women and girls in digital development. 🔗 Session link: itu.int/net4/wsis/forum/2026…

📢The adoption of the WSIS+20 Outcome Document (A/RES/80/173) by consensus was more than an agreement, it was a reaffirmation of the multistakeholder model. Tomorrow's #WSIS session at #UNGA81 will showcase how the WSIS Action Lines continue to bring that model to life through cooperation and implementation. Last week, I attended the WSIS Forum 2026 🇺🇳 The World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) is a United Nations multistakeholder forum focused on digital governance, connectivity, and the development of an inclusive information society. Among the sessions held during the Forum was the ITU and GSMA presentation, “Building Fit-for-Purpose Networks: Emergency Telecommunications in Action.” Separately, the Telcoin Network is exclusively validated by GSMA member mobile network operators, with 15 currently participating in the Adiri Testnet. I had the opportunity to connect with delegates during the Forum. I look forward to working together in the months ahead. @GSMA @ITU @WSISprocess telcoin:native
