The WNBA Finals ratings were nothing compared to another women’s sport: college softball.
The WCWS Finals, on the CABLE network ESPN, averaged 2.2M viewers, with Game 2 hitting 2.5M.
This completely blows the WNBA Finals out of the water, especially considering the WNBA's best game (2.1M) needed free broadcast network TV (NBC) to get there.
Then their Game 2 on cable plummeted to 1.33M.
Even a non-Finals WCWS game (Texas Tech vs UCLA) drew 2M viewers on ESPN, peaking at 2.6M!
It appears that the WNBA, despite being hyped a zillion times more, is still less watchable than women’s college softball.
