EVERYONE KEEPS TELLING YOUNG PEOPLE TO GO INTO AGRICULTURE… BUT WHO IS PREPARING THEM TO ACTUALLY MAKE MONEY FROM IT? 👀🌱🇬🇭 That conversation is happening right now at ACTIVATE — Accelerating Change Through Innovation in Agricultural TVET. Among the leaders in the room are Prof. George Kwaku T. Oduro, Technical Advisor to the Minister of Education; Mrs. Appiah Wiafe Adofo, Country Director, WUSC Ghana; and Mr. Paul Kasanga, Country Director, Mastercard Foundation Ghana. But forget the speeches for a minute… 👀 If you were 20 years old today, would you choose agriculture as a career? YES or NO — and why? 🔥 I really want to hear from the young people. #ACTIVATE #Agriculture #TVET #YouthInAgriculture #TechnicalEducation #VocationalTraining @WorldUniService @MastercardFdn

👩🏾‍🌾🔥 WHO SAID AGRICULTURE IS A MAN’S BUSINESS? Of the 58,942 young people reached through training and outreach under the ACTIVATE Project between 2024 and 2025… 47,824 are young women! 😳🌱 That’s 81%. From agricultural skills development to employment and entrepreneurship, more young women are being equipped to take their place across Ghana’s agricultural value chains. The ACTIVATE Project is implemented by WUSC in partnership with Mastercard Foundation, with a strong focus on women, persons with disabilities, rural youth and other underserved groups. 💭 Ladies, if you were given the right training and support today, which agribusiness would you start? 👇🏾 #ACTIVATEProject #WomenInAgriculture #Agribusiness #YouthEmployment #TVET #TheGhanaianFarmer @MastercardFdn @WorldUniService

😳🌱 WAIT… ALMOST 59,000 YOUNG PEOPLE HAVE ALREADY BEEN REACHED THROUGH AGRICULTURAL TRAINING? Yes — 58,942 young people were reached through training and outreach under the ACTIVATE Project between 2024 and 2025. And it doesn’t end with training. 34,824 young people have transitioned into employment. 🔥 This is what happens when agricultural training begins to connect young people to real skills, jobs and agribusiness opportunities. What does dignity at work look like for the people caring for our children? Yesterday, we brought childcare workers, collectives, Nairobi County, and CSOs together for a Town Hall Dialogue under the ACT Project. We unpacked ILO Convention 189, which sets standards for decent work for domestic workers, and ILO Convention 190, which addresses violence and harassment at work, alongside Nairobi’s Childcare Facilities Regulations. The conversation was about workers’ rights, safety, professional standards, and what it takes to build a childcare sector where providers can thrive. But the most important part was having the people doing the work in the room. Not just being spoken about. Being heard. #ACT4Care #ACTProjectKE #ChildcareWorkIsWork #TransformingCare #COVAW #WUSC

This week in Kisumu, @COVAW and @CDTD_ brought together childcare providers, employers, and government representatives to look at what decent work should mean for childcare workers, from fair pay and safe working conditions to protection from abuse and harassment. The conversation is an important step towards changing workplace practices, strengthening protection for childcare workers, and building a sector where decent work is part of how care is delivered. #ACT4Care #TransformingCare #ACTProject #ACTProjectKE #ChildcareWorkIsWork #CareWork #DecentWork #LabourRights #EndSGBV
