May his Gentle soul continue to rest in peace ๐
His son is my coursemate
Today, we remember Sgt. Tumaki Mboh, a top-class drill instructor and a Sergeant of Delta Company, Nigerian Military School.
For many boys who passed through the school, his voice, presence and unforgettable expressions remain part of their memories.
He could look at a boy with a skin-cut and casually fire:
โYour head like Sahara Desert.โ ๐
If someone was short, he had another one ready:
โYou short like water bottle.โ ๐คฃ
And during bush camp, his classic warning:
โYou think we don't have Guard Room here? We will put you inside thorns and tie you up.โ ๐ญ๐
Behind the tough voice, relentless drills and intimidating presence was a man who played his part in moulding boys into disciplined young men.
The NCOs who trained cadet sometimes made life at Military School tough, but years later, they'll realise many of those lessons became part of who we are.
Rest peacefully, Oga Tumaki Mboh. ๐ซก
The boys have not forgotten you. Your voice, your lessons and your stories continue to live on in the memories of those you trained.
You served. You moulded. You left a legacy.
