You have a town with 100 flats renting on average for £1500. A landlord for one of the flats increases his rent to £1525. The definition the courts are applying is this above the ‘market rate’. This means that flats will never be able to increase beyond £1500. Rent control!
The rent was reduced to a market rent. That's all the tribunal system does. Enough with the hysterics. This does not meet any reasonable definition of rent control. It's a form of mediation for landlords & tenants. Most landlords are fine with it. Just want proper resourcing.

I've seen marks and spencer come up on FYP on tiktok more times in the last month than I have in the last 3 years combined. Is there really a cost of living crisis 😂.

Landlords, do you find tenants yourselves or get the estate agent to do it?

A tribunal lowering the rent below the originally agreed price doesn't meet the definition of a rent control? Ok buddy 👍🏾

Even if goods and services become insanely cheap there are still other scarce assets likey property. Hmm it may very well be the case that property prices massively rocket in the post AI world 🤔

It’s funny because they call the Osbourne/ Cameron years ‘austerity’ but I’m pretty sure public spending went up every year under Cameron’s government. I don’t think we’ve had a government that genuinely cut public spending in at least the last 15 years.
Britain hasn't been led by anything remotely close to a conservative government for decades. Taxes up. Runways blocked. Fracking banned. It's Zack Polanski's Britain and we're just living in it.

There should be a law that the unemployment rate must always be published alongside the economic inactivity rate. The former is meaningless without the latter.
BREAKING: The Office for National Statistics has announced that the rate of UK unemployment has fallen to 4.7% 📉

I think it’s a form of arrogance going to a foreign country and demanding they capitulate to your cultural norms and expectations. there’s something about British culture that is particularly vulnerable to this.

The only thing I’ll say is It’s genuinely difficult pronouncing a name that has enunciations you are not used to. As people who are already economically disadvantaged it’s sensible to remove any friction there is to you being hired. But if you insist.
I hear Nigerians in the UK are changing or shortening their names so their white colleagues can pronounce them comfortably . Please stop doing this. Your name is part of your identity. Let them learn to pronounce it properly. Never change your name to make others comfortable.

Literally. Why can’t you ‘find yourself’ by going for a walk in your local park. You need to travel 2000 miles to introspect?
instagram has brainwashed an entire generation into thinking expensive international trips are a life goal, even when they don’t even own a house. the west convinced you to fly thousands of miles, blow your savings, take 200 pictures and call it “finding yourself.” every country has mountains, beaches and pretty streets. western tourism propaganda is working exactly as intended.

Rioting is a funny concept. You are causing hundreds of millions in damage to your own community to complain about a lack of funding in do so, further contributing to the problem. Where is the money going to come from to repair everything that was destroyed? It’s low IQ stuff.
This is cultural sabotage, this isn beyond rioting now
