Robotics is going to create some fascinating company-building problems.
Software can be updated remotely.
A robot operating in a warehouse has to deal with broken equipment, unpredictable environments, maintenance and actual physical consequences.
Building companies around embodied AI will require a different kind of operational discipline.
I find that enormously interesting.

Amazon Robotics has deployed over a million robots.
Tye Brady, the CTO of Amazon Robotics was at Long Horizon, Encord’s Physical AI Summit in SF this week.
He made a point I genuinely can’t stop thinking about.
At Amazon’s volume, a robot that’s 99% reliable still gets millions of orders wrong.
1% of a very big number is a very big number in return.
So the deployment bar isn’t always about numbers.
Precision is what the next target is on a large scale.
