I would like the record to show that, at best, I am the WANNABE polymath. Grateful to Spiral for another year of support working on open money and open intelligence!
.@PresidioBitcoin’s resident polymath and compulsive Google Docs comment dropper @_austin_f is helping champion Goose, GDK, and Buzz. With this grant, he’ll onboard bitcoin and FOSS teams, develop a self-paced GDK Builder Course, and add Buzz features like operational agents.

Before this talk, I incorrectly thought it was as simple as "code is speech" (I blame twitter influencers) A critical part of the Bernstein ruling was that the code was legible by a human, which model weights are not. If you want to protect open models, you need to watch this!
Are model weights protected speech? Do people have a right to run intelligence on hardware they own? @glukianoff and @BitcoinConner join @KyleOlney to explore these questions and more in The Right to Compute ↓ Timestamps: 0:00 - The limits of “code is speech” 06:25 - Why AI needs a stronger legal argument 12:01 - Are model weights protected speech? 17:22 - Who should be liable for AI use? Decided to pick up my camera, go on a hike, and take some pictures today. I'll try to take a picture a day for the next year. Some will be epic, others mundane. Such is life.

Day three is kicking off with a talk from @huggingface on building your own AI. “A little known, small, niche company in the space” 😅
Kicking off part 2 of day one with a technical talk explaining loop and graph engineering for plebs like me 🙏 For the first half of the day, dive into the quoted tweet below 👇
