XIV PR really need to stop using these fraudulent misleading "Adventurers!" numbers as some kind of achievement when that number is
- Not sales (The only sales figure SE has ever announced for XIV was 1.45 million units sold in 2013, no sales figure beyond that or for any XIV expansion have ever been disclosed*)
- Counts free trial players which is most of that number
- Counts inactive accounts (latest Lucky Bancho figures put XIV at only 870k~ active paid sub accounts)
- Counts alt accounts, free trial alt characters and inactive alt accounts
*Based on all available data most XIV expansions have only had 1 million to 1.5 million people who have bought them and played it to completion.
Like 95% of that 35 million number is a combination of free trial players and inactive accounts, not paid subs or sales, so that 35 million number is not indicative of any kind of success when its mostly just people downloading it for free, making alts and dead accounts.
FF Brave Exvius had like 45 million downloads, but that game was F2P so that actual number was not indicative people actually playing it actively and it was shut down despite that number being touted.
XIV PR knows if they announce only the active paid sub number or even that combined with the amount of people who bought the game at least once that it would appear like barely anyone plays the game and is a less impressive number than "WOW 35 MILLION!!!🤯" which is why they inflate that number with the free trial accounts to make it seem impressive.
🎉 Number of adventurers surpasses 35 million! 🎉
Thank you to all the Warriors of Light around the world!
