Quick Joaquin Niemann story that I’ve never told publicly: many of you know I won the LIV Tucson Pro-Am 3 years ago. What you may not know is Mito Pereira was supposed to play 9 holes with us after Paul Casey but had to sit out. I was a little disappointed, but got a chance to play with
@wadeormsby instead, who was great (and was a key to winning!) and we’ve done content with him since.
What people DON’T know is, guess who was waiting for us on the 10th tee?
Joaquin Niemann. He was there to greet us & apologize for Mito not playing - he certainly didn’t have to do that - but he went out of his way to make sure he was present. NGL, it was a blur so don’t recall exactly what I said but I was like: “no problem, we got this.” 😂
But I’ll never forget the effort Joaco made that day. I’m sure it was minor & an afterthought to him, but no matter what happens, that made me a fan of his forever. He gets it. Going the extra mile for the fans is something I appreciate, because not every golfer does that - and it’s something he ALWAYS does - I’ve seen it enough to know it’s true.💯👍🏽
