It would be an absolute shame if a certain someone got yanked from Metro.
so exciting, cannot wait to finally live in a city where nimbyism/HOAs won’t dominate behind the scenes decisions when and where 🏠+🚉 should go, start auditing waste, reform 🚔, and cut red tape. 4 metro seats now under control of a person who rides and loves transit too!

It’s a common misconception that LA has a weak-mayor system. The LA mayor doesn’t have as much direct authority as say NYC, but they’re still powerful in different ways. For example, Nithya will have more sway over transit policy in all of LA County compared to Zohran in NYC
Things that will happen in LA now: Forest Lawn drive safety improvements Measure HLA implementation Venice Dell Permanent bus lanes post Olympics Real progress on Vision Zero EIFDs to accelerate K Line North and Sepulveda Transparency and reduction of infrastructure costs

LA County Dems apologizing to Nithya:

It's very normal for LA County Dems to throw $ behind supporting a candidate, but it's pretty much unheard of for them to throw $ behind attacking a fellow Dem as they are here w/ $226k spent on 4 mailers attacking Raman. (Replacing previous tweet w/ correct mailers & $ amount)

Oof they’re already on NBC talking about Bass losing the first election of her career and referred to Raman as “Mayor-Elect Nithya Raman”
Disgraced former Councilmember Gil Cedillo is at the Bass watch party. He hasn’t accepted the writing on the wall.

Also it’s hilarious how Cedillo feels entitled to winning because of seniority and when asked to give advice to Raman, he says “not everything is an academic question”. A common thread with the pro-Bass camp: Raman being data-driven and not blindly loyal being framed as negative
