It’s been a little over a week since Mexico bowed out of the World Cup and things felt different this time compared to prior tournaments. I gathered some thoughts about it here.
Thank you also to @TheColorfulKit for sharing his thoughts as well.
In a turn-around from previous tournaments, there’s lots of positivity surrounding the men’s national team despite their recent loss.

Over the summer, we spoke with fans of @Chivas and @ClubAmerica during their respective games in Los Angeles
Tonight, the two @LigaBBVAMX teams will face each other in CDMX for this season's Clásico Nacional.
Who ya got?!
What does it mean for Angelenos to watch their favorite soccer teams from Mexico play in L.A.? ⚽️ We went to two games featuring some of the biggest teams in Liga MX to find out.

Ain’t no show like The Lake Show!
It was a wild week for Lakers fans. I asked three fans about their thoughts on everything that’s gone down since last week.
We asked some hardcore fans and the answer is somewhere between a theory that their latest purchase will get them ready to move the team to Vegas or using the Lakers as a pawn for political influence.

Last summer’s protests in CDMX against gentrification also bled into accusations of the gentrification of lucha libre…but was that so?
I spoke with Miguel Castro of @CMLL_OFICIAL to understand the changes at the company in recent years and their response to these accusations.
The Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre was accused of gentrifying lucha libre. The truth is more complicated and a sign of many changes happening in wrestling worldwide.

We’ve received tips from people who think they saw ICE at a Metro stop or near SoFi stadium.
The truth is that there are multiple”non-ICE” federal law enforcement agencies in L.A. and other host cities.
Read my story below to understand why that’s the case.
Plus, CHIRLA and LAARN published a “Know Before You Go” safety guide for fans attending World Cup-related events.
