We know a lot more, and there is of course more to come from the Cornell gang rape. Like many of you, I am experiencing a range of emotions. I am also an involved alum of Cornell, and an activist for women, so I will do what I can to make this woman's life any bit less of the hell that it now. Brief background, 15 years ago, one of my Cornell sorority sisters who also lived in Westchester County was murdered, along with her children, by her estranged husband before he killed himself. The 15 year memorial is in a couple of weeks. Like this case, there was immediate victim blaming of my dear friend, and it broke all our hearts. Two of the husband's friend, both lawyers, did the victim blaming thing - as is so typical. They blamed her for her kids and children's murder. I did two things: 1) I worked on Wall Street with Mary Pat Christie and her husband was NJ AG at the time so I reached out to her, and I received a letter that they did open an investigation (longer story), and 2) bless you Tara Rosenblum of our local News 12 who allowed me to come on and defend our friend, and tell the truth about her character. Now I am seeing some of the same despicable victim blaming from the lawyer for one of the Cornell 7. His name is Jeremy Saland and he lives in Westchester County. He came out blazing with the victim shaming of Jane Doe, right away. Some of the things he said about her: - she was "intentionally dishonest" - "selfish" - "morally repugnant" - her lawsuit was a "money grab" and more. Truly sickening. It's one thing to defend your client. It's heinous to blame the victim! Jeremy was an elected Democrat for his town. His father was a longtime Republican state senator. Since I am involved politically, I have been literally nauseous to realize that I have 20 mutual "friends" with this guy on Facebook. Here are some new things we have learned about Jane Doe: * Jane Doe told Cornell Police that that she could “say with 100% confidence I was raped" * she said she had consensual sex with two men, but the other five who entered the room, including Jeremy's client were not * she was hit and drugged * she was of course in shock after * word of the gang rape got around campus by the next afternoon as the Cornell 7 bragged about it * she finished the semester, in part because Cornell refused to reimburse her tuition, then dropped out. She is from a small town, not wealth My small act here other than making you all aware and calling this out, is to reach out to the 20 people, and give them the choice to unfriend him or me. I refuse to have any connection with this evilness. Please protect this woman however you can. Her life was made hell by what happened two years ago, and it is about to get even worse.

She doesn’t have to be connected to anyone you know or anybody you sympathize with when something happens to her. And you shouldn’t have to mentally or emotionally connect her with your mother, wife, sister or daughter to lament her being raped or violated in any way. She matters all by herself.

And by the way, Cornell refusing to give the rape victim back her tuition so she could go somewhere else and not be faced with her rapist they refuse to prosecute is another form of assault.

The # of open seats at the US open tennis tourney (seen on tv) is crazy, while tix are as expensive as ever. Why don't premium ticket holders (eg box holders) use, sell, or donate their seats? There must be a better way...

Even for the quarters, lots of open seats. Folks with boxes might be giving tix to folks who don't really watch tennis - so maybe they accept the tix and skip, or are in the suite eating shrimp while the match is going on 🤷‍♀️. it's a bad look for the tourney, imho.

Even in Louis Armstrong Stadium, where there are no suites… lots of empty seats at times?

Couldn’t say it better. Gutted, we lost the best of us. If we all lived and treated others like @DollyParton did, the world would be a much better place. Rest in peace Dolly, and thank you for gracing us with you light and love 😢🙏🩷
An absolute gut-punch of a loss. A giant. An unbelievably shining light of a human. I can't believe it.

California has such an incredible legacy of being the best place for tech entrepreneurs to build companies. We should to make it enticing, not uneconomic for successful founders & tech leaders to stay and build their cos in CA. We want you back @NaveenGRao!
Seriously worried for this guy’s health. Brain worm? Plaques and tangles? I’m not sure how a previously reasonable person can come up with this crap. Don’t worry about me @RoKhanna you’ve already chased me out of the state. I just didn’t think it was worth destroying my company to satisfy your political aspirations.

Whoah. Just landed in Chicago for a family wedding (congrats ryan & Brianna!!💕) It’s crazy smoky here from the Canadian fires. Thinking of our Canadian friends and folks with lung issues - hoping everyone stays as safe & healthy as possible. 🙏🙏🙏

None of the billionaire tax coverage about Sergey Brin in Bloomberg or the NYTimes reports the most important structural detail of why he opposes it so much more than Jensen. It taxes voting shares as ownership. It taxes Page and Brin as if they own 50+% or >$2 trillion of Google rather than 3% each. Jensen does not have super voting shares so he is just taxed like his actual ownership of Nvidia. Imagine if you were taxed like you earned 10 times as much as you actually did last year. @bizcarson @teddyschleifer
