Some AI providers charge extra for their "fast" modes. EAGLE-4 takes a different route: it's source-available software that makes the model generate text faster on your own hardware.
How it pulls it off:
1.A small model makes a guess
2.The big model checks it
3.Several words get accepted at once
4.Less time waiting
According to their paper, in their test (Qwen 3.8 27B, 4× B300):
1.3.59× faster
2.Same model
3.Same hardware
4.Source-available code
Heads up: you're still paying for the server and the GPU. And it speeds up the model's generation, not the whole pipeline.
