AlgoChess progress update ♟️ On Monday we had our biggest day ever: 16 staked duels settled on chain in a single day. In the last three days, 25 duels, almost half of every duel ever played on AlgoChess. We're still small, and we know it. But every one of those games was real: two players, real ALGO in an escrow contract, and the winner paid by the contract the moment the game ended. Nobody presses a button. What changed this month: ♟️ A weekly Arena, every Sunday 18:00 UTC. 🚨Transparency note On Oct 10 a brand-new wallet used a chess engine to beat our #Stockfish engine at levels 5, 7 and 8, at ×10, in 40 minutes. It took about 40 ALGO, then sent everything to an exchange. It could not drain the reserve. The stake limits on new accounts kept it to small bets, and the reserve still holds 1,432 ALGO. Every payout is on Algorand for anyone to check. So we changed the rules: 🔍 Stockfish now reviews every game it loses, then pays. Each winning move is replayed at full strength and scored. People make mistakes. Engines don't. 🟢 Clean win: paid within a minute. 🟡 Engine help: stake forfeited, no $CHESS mined, wallet barred. 🎯 The ×10 long shot opens after 10 staked games.
