Idris Elba’s Akuna Group Launches Free AI Filmmaking Programme for African Creators The Akuna Group, chaired by Sir Idris Elba, has opened applications for From Script to Screen with AI, a free filmmaking programme for creators in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and South Africa. Delivered in collaboration with Google and supported by US$1 million from Google.org, the programme will train participants in AI filmmaking before taking selected creators through mentorship, pitching and film production. Selected teams will receive funding to produce their films, which are expected to be showcased in October 2027. Venture Built Club is a 12-week cohort for student builders. It goes beyond building a product to growing it and showing the traction investors care about.
