Great stat by Ed Conway: this Budget has a record high number of measures (98) but the average value of each scorecard measure is a record low. Lot of fiddling...

Great, but Sadiq Khan regards international trains from Stratford as an adequate substitute for a third runway at Heathrow. Which it isn't
Exclusive John Healey is about to hand powers to London mayor Sir Sadiq Khan that allow him to give the Bakerloo Line the green light. Healey also set to refer to Stratford station as an “international” hub, which means cross-Channel trains from East London.

She was presented badly in the media because she did a bad job, not because she's a woman. Calling fair criticism sexism just sets women back.
John Healey becomes the 25th man to deliver a budget as U.K. chancellor, facing soaring inflation and mounting debt. But was his predecessor Rachel Reeves judged on more than her economic record? Her ex-advisor Matt Pound thinks so. 🎙️Listen now 👉 politico.eu/podcast/westmins…

Looking forward to Andy Burnham on Gogglebox tonight but as I said to @_RyanTubridy on @TimesRadio I can’t believe he genuinely has such a wide selection of crisps in Downing St. Skips, Twiglets, pork scratching AND bacon fries? That’s too many crisps Andy

Well here’s an incredible fact for the day we turn back time. This naval gun, being straddled by Cher in the video to If I Could Turn Back Time, is the same naval gun also pictured here, as the Japanese sign the declaration of unconditional surrender, formally ending WW2.

Agree with Tom and @CitySamuel on this but @CityAM got there first! cityam.com/london-could-have…
Call me old fashioned, but I think a charity established to maintain London's bridges should maintain London's crumbling bridges. Instead, £840 *million* of its endowment has been spaffed on spurious “social justice” causes.

Labour's only idea for education is that kids should talk nice
You'd be forgiven for thinking that 'oracy' is an ancient term. But did you know that it was dreamed up in 1965 by a Birmingham academic? What followed were decades of untested educational experiments which left children worse off. Now Lucy Powell wants to do it all again.

Paul Nuttall is running the vetting for Reform candidates? The same Paul Nuttall who, as UKIP leader, claimed to have lost friends at Hillborough, played for Tranmere Rovers, had a PHD and lived at a fake address? Ok Via @JAHeale
