Co-founder, @CoinSwitch (India's largest crypto app) & @LemonnHQ (for stocks and MFs). On a mission to make money equal for all by simplifying investing.

Most of us have received a message that makes us stop for a second. "Your bank account will be blocked." "Your KYC has expired." "Click here to fix it." These messages are designed to make us act first and think later. And in that moment, anyone can be vulnerable to a scam. As a financial platform, we think our responsibility goes beyond building products that people use to manage their money. It also means helping people understand the risks they may encounter while navigating the digital world. In 2025, India recorded 24.02 lakh financial cyber fraud complaints, with reported losses of ₹22,495 crore. Behind these numbers are people who may have lost money they worked hard to earn. That’s why we’re launching SafeSwitch at @CoinSwitch and @LemonnHQ during this National Cybersecurity Awareness Month. The idea is simply to help people build the habit of stopping, checking and verifying before they act. SafeSwitch brings together an interactive quiz to help people recognise common scam tactics, a website checker to assess suspicious links and websites, and guidance on how to report cyber fraud. We’re also taking these conversations to our employees, users and the wider public. Because knowing what to look out for is an important first step towards staying safer online. We know one platform or campaign can’t prevent every scam. But if it helps someone pause before clicking a suspicious link, question a message that doesn’t feel right, or know where to report fraud, it’s a step worth taking. That’s what STOP. CHECK. VERIFY. means to us, making digital safety a more familiar part of everyday life. Start with yourself. Take the SafeSwitch quiz now. Link in the comments. @SagarVimal @govind1246

India’s digital journey is changing how we do business, move money and connect with global markets. The next step is to make these connections work better for businesses and consumers. Yesterday, at the NDTV World Summit, we discussed the role of gold and how technology can make global markets more accessible. I see blockchain as an important part of this evolution. From tokenisation to more efficient transactions, it opens up new ways to connect financial systems. It was a good conversation yesterday at NDTV World Summit with Sachin Jain, @GOLDCOUNCIL, Deep Agrawal, @PhonePe , and Tushar Vikram, @MashreqTweets. Thanks to @ndtvindia for bringing us together.

Sometimes, even the people backing you won’t believe in what you’re building. But that doesn’t necessarily mean you’re wrong. When we started Lemonn, we were entering a market with established players and years of head start. It would have been easy to look at the competition and conclude that there wasn’t enough room for another player. I saw it differently. Just because a market is crowded doesn’t mean the problems have been solved. Building something means making decisions with incomplete information, backing your conviction, learning from what doesn’t work. Investors bring valuable perspectives, but no one can predict with certainty what will work. Sometimes, you have to test your beliefs in the real world to find out. Theodore Roosevelt put it well: “The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena.” I think about this often. At Lemonn, we’re beginning to see what that conviction can translate into. In the last 6 months, @LemonnHQ has become the fastest growing broker and we're still pushing for more momentum. This is an encouraging milestone, but they don’t mean we’ve got everything right. There’s a lot more to learn, build and improve. For me, this reinforce a simple belief: you don’t need everyone to agree with you before you start building something you believe is worth building. Conviction doesn’t guarantee you’ll be right. But if you give up just because others don’t see what you see, you may never find out. Whether we’re right or wrong, I think we’ll know a few years from now. Until then, we’ll keep pushing. The goal was never just to enter a market or prove a point. It was to solve a problem worth solving - investing still is unsolved in India inspite of countless unicorns. And we’re still at it, until the problem is solved by us, or by someone better than us.

In 2022, when we started CoinSwitch Ventures, our focus was on Web3 and blockchain. We wanted to back founders building in a space that was still finding its footing. Over the last few years, we’ve backed 26+ startups. Along the way, we’ve learned a lot about early-stage investing and the challenges founders face. We’ve also been able to contribute to the Web3 ecosystem and support founders building in the space. That experience has shown us that we can do more to support startups and founders working on problems beyond Web3, too. That’s what led us to rebrand CoinSwitch Ventures as BlackLane Capital. Through BlackLane Capital, we aim to back early-stage companies across fintech, enterprise infrastructure, consumer businesses and digital assets, globally. Over the next five years, we aim to enable more than $100 million in startup funding through our investments and broader network. I believe great businesses start with founders who are solving real problems. We want to be part of their journey, backing more founders across more sectors and helping them build businesses that last. Looking forward to what we can build from here 🚀 🔗 Link to the story in the comments.

Nine years of building CoinSwitch, and this is one of those milestones that feels different. We grew revenue 150% in FY26, from ₹130 Cr to ₹324 Cr. But what I’m more proud of is what happened underneath that growth. Our operating costs grew 37%. Adjusted EBITDA went from ₹1.65 Cr to ₹86 Cr, taking the margin from 1% to 27%. Revenue per employee more than doubled. For me, that’s the real story. Building for millions of users is exciting. But building a business that can scale, stay disciplined and keep investing in the right things is much harder. Over the last few years, we’ve made plenty of choices about where to go fast, where to stay lean, and where to play the long game. FY26 is a good reflection of those choices coming together. We’re in a much stronger place today than we were a year ago. And after nine years, I still feel like we’re only getting started. A big thank you to everyone at CoinSwitch who has helped us get here. ❤️ @SagarVimal @govind1246 🔗 Link to the story in the comments.

Always feels good to see our users get their moment on the big stage. Seeing @CoinSwitch users actually make it to India Ke Top 1%, play the quiz and experience the show was pretty special. This is the fun part of building for millions of people — sometimes you get to see the community become part of what you’re building. 📷 And who knows, maybe the next one could be you. Play the quiz on the CoinSwitch app and you could get a chance to be on the show. Watch out, India Ke Top 1%!

Crypto in India is no longer just a metro story. It’s becoming a Bharat story. One of the things I’ve seen while building CoinSwitch is how quickly crypto has moved beyond the early adopters in the biggest cities. Today, people across smaller cities and towns are becoming part of this journey and the broader conversation around money. At @CoinSwitch, our mission has always been simple: Make Money Equal for All. We’ve always liked initiatives that spark curiosity. That’s what makes India Ke Top 1% an interesting partnership for us. And having Anil Kapoor as the host makes it even more special. Excited for this. The show premieres 19 September, every Saturday and Sunday, 8–9 PM on StarPlus and JioHotstar. Do check this out!

Lemonn is now #28 on NSE’s active clients list. When we started @LemonnHQ, we knew building a new investing platform in a crowded market wouldn’t be easy. But, seeing more and more investors choosing Lemonn, and seeing us move up this list, is incredibly encouraging for all of us building it. There’s still a long way to go! And if you’re at Global Fintech Fest, come find us at the Lemonn bar (3rd Floor, Jasmine Hall, booth no JY19). Grab some lemonade, say hello to the team, and celebrate this little milestone with us.

Maharashtra’s move to explore becoming India’s first tokenised state could be a significant step in bringing blockchain-based tokenisation into the real economy. Land and real estate represent enormous pools of wealth, but they have traditionally been difficult to transact and fractionalise for liquidity. Tokenisation could change that. And this isn’t just a theoretical conversation anymore. REC’s recent issuance of ₹500 crore tokenised corporate bonds is another signal that tokenisation is moving beyond experimentation and into real financial infrastructure. Maharashtra’s initiative could therefore be bigger than a state-level experiment. It could provide a blueprint for how India brings real-world assets on-chain while keeping trust and compliance at the centre. Yesterday, had a great conversation with @Sharad9Dubey at @NDTVProfit on the evolving role of tokenisation in India’s real economy.

Crypto’s biggest obstacle today isn’t adoption. It’s regulatory clarity. I truly believe in the potential of this sector. Crypto has come a long way from being a largely unstructured and misunderstood asset class to becoming an increasingly established part of the global financial conversation. But for the next phase of growth, businesses and investors need greater certainty. Clear regulations can give businesses the confidence to build for the long term, while giving investors greater trust in the ecosystem. Standardisation and stronger industry-led compliance are important steps forward. But ultimately, nothing beats a clear regulatory framework. Once that clarity comes, I believe the opportunity for crypto in India could be significantly bigger.

Bitcoin is starting to behave less like a tech stock and more like gold. 🧵 That may be one of the more important shifts happening in the market right now.

Why does that matter? Because correlations reveal how markets are actually positioning an asset. As bond yields rise, the dollar weakens and risk appetite comes under pressure, investors are looking for assets that can preserve value outside traditional risk assets. Gold has played that role for decades. Bitcoin is increasingly entering that conversation.

This doesn’t mean Bitcoin has suddenly become gold. It remains younger, more volatile and still finding its place in portfolios. But perhaps the more interesting question is no longer “Is Bitcoin digital gold?” It is: “Is the market starting to treat Bitcoin like one?” If that shift proves durable, it could be far more significant than any short-term price move.
