I want to be excited for the K/DA comeback, but True Damage’s rollout makes that hard. The problem isn’t K/DA, it’s Riot’s uneven prioritization. Heartsteel at least got a real music video, interactions, and visible care; True Damage mostly got recycled assets and snippets, with interviews as the one area where they finally matched other groups. What stings most is that Rioters hyped True Damage fans up for this knowing what was coming. I’m sure Fortiche did great work, and that’s worth crediting—but it doesn’t fix the trust issue around how Riot plans and communicates these projects.
