Working with robots has always been harder than it should be. The intelligence was hard to access. The hardware was hard to afford. Today, both change. @makermodsai Maker Arm + Metal Arm, powered by @dreamlabs_ai 's Dream-1. Give your robot a task in plain language, right from your browser. Try it: playground.makermods.ai

this is just incredible. RSI is a lot closer than we think. and @jparkjmc is one of the brightest minds i know working on this.
Introducing DeepRSI, a new industry standard for measuring recursive self-improvement. On preexisting benchmarks, tasks are contributor-based and short-horizon (~12 hrs). In DeepRSI, we push agents to work 48 hours on ML tasks actually derived from ongoing proprietary research.

i had the pleasure of visiting the Matic office not too long ago. @mehul showed up on Labor Day and took us around :) genuinely one of the most magical places i've been, and so grateful to get a sneak peek inside greatness.
This is where the Matic happens I took @firstround on a tour of our HQ > Matic-themed movie posters > Furniture from Facebook Marketplace > A brand-new production line

like my two favorite people working together btw
Really excited to be working with @jmoonio at Budbreak! Had a great week in Napa Valley taking the Metal Arms into the vineyard for our first field test. One of the biggest challenges is keeping communication reliable over Starlink at both ends. From the truck to Emma out among the vines. Next up, we will be attaching a pruning end effector and putting Emma to work on vineyard pruning. We’re looking for more deployment opportunities and people to build with. DMs are open!

every time i go to sf i hang out with someone from a completely different social sphere. every time i see large swaths of the city and i see hundreds of beautiful happy looking young people enjoying the sunshine. what are you people talking about
it took not even 30 seconds after leaving my hotel in nyc to see something that i almost never saw in 3 months in sf: i saw a hot girl

i arrived at the airport at 10pm for an international flight at 12am. i was at the gate at 10:15pm. it's almost too efficient.
sfo probably the only airport in the world where you can leave your house an hour and a half before your international flight and still have time to spare before boarding

my cofounder & i live together and the best part of my day is every night when we get home, we pick a new recipe at random and then make it and eat it together. possibly nothing better than this.
Someone asked if it's important to live with your cofounder(s). It can help, especially early on. But it's not so critical that you should force yourselves to do it if you don't all enjoy it.

i met these guys when they just came to SF... such an elegant solution with beautiful user experience.
introducing Space: the infinite filesystem once mounted you can: → stream files to your laptop → work directly in the cloud (no downloads needed) → use your files natively with any app or agent → share a Space drive between all your computers and team try it for yourself today

100% agree. two other things: a) when you type, you get to think about the words. when you're speaking, you're incentivized to... continue speaking. which means you're significantly less efficient or effective w/ prose. b) i type faster than i speak. so the delta is not there.
I'm going to be real with y'all for a minute. I am so, so tired of voice-to-text. I like typing. I can communicate exactly what I'm thinking without having to reserve mental energy to get the thing out of my head. The keys I press are the letters that appear on my screen. I can type quickly. I can get my ideas out quickly. It's great. Because of my hand injuries and my cast, I am not able to type. This has forced me to become a power user of voice-to-text tools. They're not as bad as I expected. It was even a bit pleasant once I got the hang of it. But the more I use them, the closer I get to throwing my laptop out a window. When I screw up typing, I get like 1-2 letters wrong, and usually you can tell what was meant. Fixing the mistakes only takes a few seconds. When Wispr Flow fails to translate what I said, it removes and swaps random words in my statement, turning it into jumbled nonsense. It regularly removes keywords from sentences, like "not", "never", and "before". Do you know how big a gap there is between "never merge a change like this" and "merge a change like this"? Do you know how frustrating and embarrassing it is when actual damage is done by a Wispr Flow hallucination? Do you know how tiring it is to reread everything I just said, right after I said it, carefully checking that every word was transcribed correctly? Do you know how miserable it is having zero confidence that the thing you're trying to say will actually come out correct? It's so fatiguing. It is making computers miserable. I don't know how people live like this. I hate it. I want nothing more than to be able to type again. Given the choice between the ability to type and the ability to speak, I would legitimately be willing to give up my voice if it meant I never had to feel this way again. I'm just now realizing how much more irritable, frustrated, and miserable I have been for the past month because I can't use a computer in a way that is pleasant. I legitimately feel the sanity leaking out of my head every time I have to hit the Wispr Flow button. To everybody I've been ghosting or slow to respond to lately, I'm sorry. Know that I want to, but my inability to use a computer is driving me mad, and I don't want to respond when I feel like this. I'd much prefer to wait and give you the response you deserve rather than a pissed-off pile of slop like I would be able to do today. I had to make 12 corrections to the following tweet before I could post. Making those corrections took significantly longer than typing would have taken (if my hand worked).

i feel like notes is a very underrated industry. meeting notes is extremely saturated of course, but the most helpful piece of software on my phone is the notes app. someone should see if they can make it better :)

We just killed Monid ourselves. Monid is now open source. The OpenRouter for agent tools. Your agents can now: > discover, run, and pay for tools at runtime > one connection to 2,000 APIs: SEO, leads, social media, search, ecommerce, stocks, video/image/music/3D gen, private company data > pay per call, no subscriptions Fork it, self-host it, or plug in as a provider. We spent weeks killing everyone else. Only fair we kill ourselves too.
