Because No Child Should Starve
Nourhan, a 35-year-old married mother of six children, lives with her family of eight, including a newborn who was just one month old when the genocide began, in a worn tent after being displaced ten times since the onset of the genocide in Gaza. Their home and sole source of income were destroyed in a night of heavy bombing, forcing them to flee with nothing; her husband was injured in the siege and remains unable to work, leaving Nourhan as the family's only provider. She manages chronic hypothyroidism and adrenal insufficiency but cannot afford the monthly medications or necessary blood tests, and the family survives on just one meal a day, lacking access to iodine-rich foods or fish essential for her condition. Poor camp hygiene has led to skin infections in the children, while the approaching winter brings added risks from their thin tent, sleeping directly on sand without blankets or warm clothing, making them vulnerable to cold-related illnesses. Her two-year-old daughter is severely malnourished, has delayed tooth development, and urgently requires diapers, milk, and improved nutrition; one son suffers from weak vision needing glasses and medical attention, and her 13-year-old appears far younger due to extreme malnutrition. Nourhan humbly seeks support for clean food and water, baby milk and diapers, emergency medical care, a safe shelter, and basic clothing to help her family endure these hardships.
