Good evening friends, And a Happy New Year! One of my own resolutions for 2026 is to take a one year social media break. I shall, therefore, be taking temporary leave of this forum 🙏 Akuume 🙏

There's no moral to this story, I just felt like sharing how the past 5 years have affected me in ways I never thought possible. This country has broken so many people who waved the flag high in the past. I'll always hope for a better country. But that light is dimming. Fast.

I'm dreading next week. Because I know that I'm hanging onto this country only by a tiny, tiny sliver of hope. And duty Since 2021, I've encouraged anyone who can leave Uganda to leave. Because it's gotten much worse. All that's keeping me here is my duty to Uganda's children.

Since childhood, I've been asked why I'm in Uganda when the world out there had better opportunities for growth, innovation and success. I'd always answered that my home, and my work is in Uganda. 2021, when they shut down the internet, was the day my patriotism started dying.

So, the Registrar (Kintu Simon Zirintuusa) eventually ruled on KIU’s application for Temporary Injunction on me (after granting them Interim Injunction on me of 40 days). He has granted the Temporary Injunction too. The main suit is allocated to Justice Kinobe. You can make your own interpretation of the process, spirit of the arguments, the pattern, and the direction. Regardless, there is no giving up on using this and other spaces available to us to amplify voices of the unheard, to call the mighty to order, to demand for justice, for better services (even from KIU) and for a better country. No one can stop the tide.
