Working @Polkadot. Views are my own and do not represent the views of anyone else ;)

Almost 7 years apart, Cumulus is taking it next step to #JAM. Parachain service is doing its first steps. @Polkadot

Accessing my Claude bot through the Polkadot app and letting it deploy stuff to Web3 😎 I know that the Polkadot App is all about personhood, but I personally think that bots will be a good UX and we should have them. (video sped up, original code from @shawntabrizi)

We’re aware of an issue affecting @hyperbridge's Ethereum gateway contract. The exploit only affects DOT on Ethereum that is bridged through Hyperbridge and does not affect DOT in the Polkadot ecosystem, or DOT bridged through other bridges. Polkadot, its parachains, and native DOT remain secure and unaffected. Hyperbridge has been paused while the issue is investigated.

Hey Polkadot gang! So since we're not having AAG anymore, but I think the weekly beat to have Polkadot people meet in a room and talk about everything Polkadot is very important, I think we should just continue and transform the tradition and have a streamed weekly call to talk about Polkadot. What do you think? Who would be up to join?

Let's bring blockhains back to what they were build for. The path of onboarding web2 services as is to blockchains will just make the centralized forces more powerful and will not solve any problem for users.
Welcome to 2026! Milady is back. Ethereum did a lot in 2025: gas limits increased, blob count increased, node software quality improved, zkEVMs blasted through their performance milestones, and with zkEVMs and PeerDAS ethereum made its largest step toward being a fundamentally new and more powerful kind of blockchain (more on this later) But we have a challenge: Ethereum needs to do more to meet its own stated goals. Not the quest of "winning the next meta" regardless of whether it's tokenized dollars or political memecoins, not arbitrarily convincing people to help us fill up blockspace to make ETH ultrasound again, but the mission: To build the world computer that serves as a central infrastructure piece of a more free and open internet. We're building decentralized applications. Applications that run without fraud, censorship or third-party interference. Applications that pass the walkaway test: they keep running even if the original developers disappear. Applications where if you're a user, you don't even notice if Cloudflare goes down - or even if all of Cloudflare gets hacked by North Korea. Applications whose stability transcends the rise and fall of companies, ideologies and political parties. And applications that protect your privacy. All this - for finance, and also for identity, governance and whatever other civilizational infrastructure people want to build. These properties sound radical, but we must remember that a generation ago any wallet, kitchen appliance, book or car would fulfill every single one of them. Today, all of the above are by default becoming subscription services, consigning you to permanent dependence on some centralized overlord. Ethereum is the rebellion against this. To achieve this, it needs to be (i) usable, and usable at scale, and (ii) actually decentralized. This needs to happen at both (a) the blockchain layer, including the software we use to run and talk to the blockchain, and (b) the application layer. All of these pieces must be improved - they are already being improved, but they must be improved more. Fortunately, we have powerful tools on our side - but we need to apply them, and we will. Wishing everyone an exciting 2026. Milady.

This is fake news. Funds are not stuck. Teleporting in and out of the Relay Chain still works fine - there is just nothing to do on the Relay with your tokens. I just tested it again:
Someone sent 280 DOT from Bifrost to the Polkadot chain and the coins are now stuck 🥲 ‼️Please, if you’re doing cross-chain transfers, always pick Asset Hub as the destination

🚨Snowbridge maintenance mode during Polkadot AssetHub migration: During tomorrow’s Polkadot AssetHub migration, DOT teleports between BridgeHub and AssetHub will be disabled. Since Snowbridge relies on these for fees, we’ll place Snowbridge in maintenance mode during the migration. Service will resume once teleports are re-enabled. We apologize for the service disruption. We will keep the community informed when the bridge has been enabled again.

If you think what #Web3 is about making any of the people on this photo happy, you are wrong. #Web3 is about liberating our data, our personal life from these people.

If you were ever thinking how would look like wartime @gavofyork here you are. Very refreshing to see strong focus on other essential things of any crypto project rather than just pure tech. Even more pleasant was hearing about push for products, products, products. I just hope builders of these products will be founders and other highly incentivised people and teams doing their best instead of employees. Many people might be surprised by highlighting PoP (proof of personhood) as an USP of Polkadot but imho its right direction (scalability is already becoming table stakes). I even see more and more founders of other crypto projects looking for privacy preserving sybil resistant solutions for differentiating between individuals w/o KYC (e.g. if PoP would be available already 1st thing I would do would be increasing farming rewards for individuals w PoP on @hydration_net which would allow better, wider reward distribution w/o risk of concentration for 1-few whales). Many will be happy about lowering issuance asap in maximum proposed way, but people treating DOT as passive income. Imho Gav was directionally right and on point whole stream. Decoupling interest rates from national security is great analogy. Shared security provided by Polkadot to parachains was always meant to bring lowest costs for econ. security for state machines but Polkadot itself somehow forgot about its own security costs. Cutting issuance and sell pressure caused by it is lowest hanging fruit with big impact how to make DOT more attractive. Treasury "conservatism" is another answer on big criticism of Polkadot of last 2y so thats great as well, but also happening by "itself" last ~9 months already. Last but not least we are super happy and energised by support of Hollar and we will do our best to create more value for ecosystem unlike other stablecoin providers. I can't wait to see Gavs proposal for stablecoin. I agree space needs more capital efficient solutions than overcollateralized ones. I would also prefer to make Hollar less "overcollateralized" but its most battle tested model so far and we have to start somewhere. On the other hand I agree with not being tied to peg so strictly (not for Hollar ofc :D !,but) for some new (semi) stable coin. I would go even further I feel and see need for reserve assets with lower volatility than "normal" crypto coins & tokens but as independent from $ as possible. Hopefully we will see more such streams in future.
