always remember that there is no prize nor value in pretending not to care. if someone or something matters to you, let it be known.

it has been made obvious that crypto security cannot depend on today's mathematics forever blockchains rely on cryptography to secure wallets, authorize transactions and protect user assets but what happens when the mathematical assumptions behind that security become vulnerable? quantum computing is one potential challenge many blockchain wallets rely on elliptic-curve cryptography to authorize transactions. a sufficiently powerful quantum computer could use shor's algorithm to attack these systems and potentially derive private keys from public keys AI-assisted mathematical research adds another reason to keep testing existing security assumptions we don't know when these threats could become practical, but preparing early makes sense this is where starknet's architecture becomes interesting first, hash-based STARK proofs STARKs allow a network to verify that computations were performed correctly without repeating the entire process their security relies on hash-based cryptography rather than the elliptic-curve assumptions targeted by shor's algorithm this gives starknet's proving system an important advantage when preparing for quantum threats second, programmable accounts @Starknet accounts are smart contracts that can define their own transaction authorization rules this means developers can introduce new signature methods, including post-quantum alternatives, without requiring a network-wide upgrade in simple terms, the way an account proves ownership can evolve without rebuilding the entire network but there is still migration work to do existing wallets, protocol components and ethereum-facing dependencies also need to be considered starknet is working on these challenges while exploring how to give its infrastructure greater control over future security upgrades the bigger point is that cryptographic security should not be something a blockchain builds once and assumes will last forever the ability to adapt matters just as much as the cryptography being used today starknet is preparing for that possibility, not claiming that every part of its network is already quantum-safe gud tek

now that the privacy zeitgeist has died down, i want to circle back to this. most projects launching tokens then seemed more interested in extracting value than creating it. there are only a few tokens on my watchlist w good value prop. $AZTEC is one of them/currently my best bet. would be interesting to know if your position has changed at all since this post wale
Privacy is important but all these "privacy coins" are purely hype-driven and solve nothing. None of the people pushing them understand how they work or have even done a single transaction

the acting behind to kill a monkey is just mind blowing. as my bro said, it’s just an inch shy of hollywood standard.

lately, i’ve been looking into what post quantum resistance actually means for a layer two chain. @aztecnetwork is one of my case studies. because aztec settles on ethereum, which hasn’t completed its post-quantum migration. so the core of my research came down to three questions: > if parent chain becomes vulnerable, how much of the layer two quantum resistance remains? > can a layer two truly be quantum resistant before its parent chain? > or is the security of the entire system ultimately limited by its weakest layer?

@zooko @EliBenSasson can i get your thoughts on this?

this is the kind of problem zk kyc is designed to solve. @lex_node is exploring this with @metalex_labs on @aztecnetwork. we don’t have to expose everything anymore, just what’s necessary.
‼️ A hacker got the national ID numbers of signers on eSignFlow, the e-signature tool used by 120+ Belgian councils. Its maker Vanden Broele says the hashed numbers are easy to reverse. Some handwritten signatures leaked too. On Monday, its CEO said mostly metadata leaked.

my invite code to test Bread wallet on mainnet came in this week. tbh, i never thought we’d get to a point where entertainment and privacy could exist in one place. i’m talking about Bread Arcane. now, concerning the wallet, Bread is Miden’s new private, self-custodial wallet available on iOS, Android and Chrome. the previous Miden wallet has unfortunately been retired, and honestly, i like this one better than the first. it’s simple to navigate, works across different devices, and i don’t have to run a math operation just to use it. so far, my experience has been been good.

so apparently an engineer laptop is the most expensive thing in 2026.
Binance's initial investigation suggests that the security incident may involve a compromised DevOps engineer’s laptop, which allowed an attacker to gain access to a service container and submit unauthorized withdrawal transactions. We have found no evidence of any wallet private key leak. We will share a detailed technical post-mortem once the investigation is complete and the facts are fully verified. The estimated total impact sits at around $6.3B. We have worked with blockchain partners to freeze affected assets, with ~$3 billion frozen on-chain so far. Binance will cover all losses from the SAFU fund and the company’s funds. User funds are safe. We will also publish an updated Proof of Reserves once the remediation is complete. As an immediate precaution, Binance has: - temporarily suspended deposits and withdrawals while security checks are completed; - revoked the affected address authorisation; - engaged law enforcement and blockchain intelligence partners to trace and recover funds. Our teams are working around the clock to resolve this issue safely and thoroughly. We are working closely with our law enforcement partners to confirm the identity of these criminals and bring them to justice. Please rely only on official Binance channels for updates. Please feel free to contact Binance Customer Support if you have any further questions. binance.com/en/support/annou…

i think you’re confusing self-sufficient to being self-made. when i say i’m self-made in this context it’s simply that i built through with my own efforts, w/o inheriting the wealth or having the achievement handed. while being entirely self-sufficient is saying that everything i have is exclusively the result of my actions, with no meaningful contribution from other people or circumstances beyond control.
i find it counterintuitive when someone calls themselves a self-made businessman, millionaire or anything else, when they could have died before achieving any of it the claim is flawed on several fronts. biologically, you came into existence bcus two ppl conceived you. in that sense, they played a crucial role in making your life, and any success within it possible then there’s the role of chance. many equally or more talented ppl died before they could reach their full potential the truth is, being alive is the biggest piece of luck any of us can have, but many of us overlook it
