Americans: please I'm begging you I can't afford my electric bill Republicans: we're giving the lieutenant who murdered 34 villagers at My Lai a Smithsonian exhibit ✊
Under my direction, the soldiers who fought at the Battle of Wounded Knee will keep their medals. This decision is final. Their place in history is settled.

Genuinely don't understand what he could be doing worse. He's destroying the economy and decades old international alliances, he unleashed a secret police force that's terrorizing innocent people, he's bringing back deadly diseases, and his USAID cuts have killed 100s of 1000s.
People are being weird about this but by this point it's extremely obvious that the incompetence of Trump 2, combined with Trump's mental and physical decline and irresponsible decisions, has dramatically weakened it in ways that were not entirely predictable in Dec 2024.

That's not even getting into the staggering level of corruption or the agencies he's hollowed out to install loyalists. That some people are still living comfortable lives doesn't make his actions any less monstrous or damaging.

Leftist in Speed [smugly]: What if instead of pointlessly keeping the bus above 50mph we simply addressed Dennis Hopper's material needs? [explosion kills everyone]
stopping the red-blue trolley is part of the solution (which is ultimately abolishing capitalism). anything else is futile and will kill everyone. focus energy accordingly.

Every Hegseth speech is like "Precision...not circumcision. Ray GUNS...not gay buns." And then he blows up an elementary school and kills 120 schoolchildren
BREAKINGNEWS; Secretary Pete Hegseth claims that only one or two countries contributed to Afghanistan war. This is a lie. 32 countries had two or more deaths. 16 countries had over 10 deaths. 3 countries had over 90 deaths. Canada 159, UK 457. 🚨

I wish I could read more but those fat cats on Wall Street block me at every turn
Everyone blames screens for the decline of reading. Nobody blames the consolidated corporate publishing industry that made books pricier, more generic, and harder to find. jacobin.com/2026/10/books-pu…

"Actually he lives in a blue state where millions of other voters behaved like adults to make sure his tantrum didn't do any damage. Checkmate shitlibs!" - every argument defending this
Tom Morello (@tmorello) says he didn't vote for Kamala Harris in 2024. "I saw how the corporate Democrat sausage is made. It is worse than you think. And there is a righteous fury at the corporate-controlled, money-controlled electoral system we have that is absolutely illegitimate. And people cannot choke down voting for a candidate, I understand it, cannot choke down voting for a candidate that's responsible for what happened in Gaza. And they just, they can't do it."

So many people coping over this because it interferes with their narrative that Biden was a doddering old fool who gave Netanyahu everything he wanted. Maybe the fact that Netanyahu wanted the other guy to win should've been taken more seriously.
“The Situation Room connected the call. Biden jumped in. “Bibi, man, what the fuck are you doing?” He gripped the phone tight. “You think I’m Santa Claus? No Santa in Israel, pal.” theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0…

I'm from a very different part of western Mass that's 90% white and is one of the only communities in the state to vote for Trump three times. Nice to read a story about harmless lunatics instead of someone calling ICE on their landscaper

They think "secret" means politicians tenting their fingers and wearing the masks from Eyes Wide Shut and "public" means automatically brave and helpful. Which makes sense when everything about politics is a performance to them

People can offer whatever defenses of this they want, some of them are even valid. But imagine what all the pundits and posters would be saying if this was any normie Democrat. There would be a 1000 viral "UNIPARTY" / "this is why voting is pointless" tweets an hour
Mamdani: We also know the president not just as the leader of the country, but also as someone who has built quite a lot of housing in our city.

This is how every podcast should work. Host or guest says something stupid, other one calls for a fact check, then the first person reads out loud how wrong they were. We could've stopped two Trump presidencies
one of the funniest clips is bobby lee telling andrew santino that "korea doesn't really have a history of oppression, we didn't have slaves" and andrew says ok let's google that and bobby recites "korea had the longest unbroken chain of slavery of any society in history"

It's a beautiful scene from a movie that suffers a little from being a part one. But the series as a whole is great. I get why people give them the side-eye now with JK Rowling's bullshit but I don't understand why at the time they didn't receive the same awards attention as LOTR

All the people who are currently saying they can't bring themselves to vote for a Democrat because they're being mean to a twitch streamer are implicitly accepting this as a trade-off
She came to the land of opportunity through a legal process like so many before her. Followed the rules. Showed up to an immigration appointment after the most devastating health event a woman can experience. Gets shackled like an animal. That’s our country now.

Democrats are pretty vocal about the fact that there's no endpoint in politics where we achieve utopia and can all put up our feet. It tends to be the left flank where you see the repeated complaint of "oh so every election is important and I have to keep voting until I die??"

The socialist left going all in on defending a rich dilettante twitch streamer while attacking an actual activist who's devoted her life to protecting people from gun violence gives you a pretty good window into their priorities
You can be snarky and deflect Shannon, or you could just deal with the issue: if you’re opposition to Piker is about his alleged antisemitism, which he denies, why have you said nothing about Loomer, who is a proud open Islamophobe? Not one word? Why not call out GOP bigots?
