Friendly reminder: colonoscopy’s are thankfully not filmed with IMAX cameras. It all happens during a refreshing nap and they even give you a lil’ juice box afterward. Despite it being among the easiest cancers to prevent, I have two friends who aren’t here anymore. But should be. Indigenous and Black communities have the highest rates of colorectal cancer in the US. And men are 1.5 times more likely to experience this than women. @CCAlliance
#DallasCowboys quarterback @Dak Prescott opens up to @CraigMelvin about urging people to get screened for colorectal cancer with a new public service announcement with @LeadFromBehind.
I urge @ACPIMPhysicians to reconsider its recent #CRCscreening guidelines and maintain screening at age 45 for those at average risk. The new guidelines are confusing and a major step back for CRC prevention.
Ryan Reynolds, a lost bet, and a colonoscopy. Hear how @LeadFromBehind’s new campaign is raising awareness of the importance of colon cancer screenings among younger adults.
@brooksbell says this could save lives: hubs.ly/Q01pQwzn0
I predict Ryan Reynolds sharing his colonoscopy (and polyp) will do more for colorectal cancer awareness than half of anything we’ve tried as a GI profession…
…and I’m grateful for every second of it 🥹💙

My good friend @brooksbell had colon cancer 3 years ago and has now partnered with @VancityReynolds@leadfrombehind to increase awareness & action(!) on a super preventable disease. The video is awesome too... get screened if you are 40+ leadfrombehind.org/
Starting the bowel prep for tomorrow’s colonoscopy + endoscopy. Early detection of colon cancer is one of the two lowest pieces of fruit on the delaying death pathway. Not a fun way to spend the day, but worth it. More here: bit.ly/3LI4IhI
As I always say, “Colonoscopy can help us find polyps, can help us prevent colon cancer, and in very particular cases, may help us elevate a woman to U.S. presidential power for the first time in history”…
BREAKING NEWS. Colonoscopies (aka "the best nap ever") are now recommended for 45 year olds. Almost 40% of 45 year olds have pre-cancerous polyps. Get them snipped out asap! cnn.com/2021/05/18/health/co…
