STIX CITY
We know 11 has a proud legacy at Penn State since @LaVarArrington made the Stix a #LinebackerU tradition.
But 11 means a lot to the program in another way.
As the 11-1 Nittany Lions are set to play for B1G title, check out this cool stat on PSU's winning history: 🧵
I decided to go as the kid who used to sell loose cigarettes in my high school bathroom for Halloween this year, on this week's @ObligatoryPSU.

I devote a lot of time to appreciating Lenny’s greatness when covering the 1950s in my PSU football history class.
Amazing to me how high he still sits in the program record books despite the many remarkable talents playing longer seasons who followed. 🐐
👂 👀
The streets are saying the @ObligatoryPSU Purdue show is dropping early (watch for it on the @tengwallTFN YouTube a little after 7).
Fwiw this was one of my favorites of the season so far. Regardless of team results, we’re out here grinding for the folks.
Beneath the Festivus pole and feats of strength lies a real family tradition that predates the show by decades.
Whether you nail a clock to the wall or wrestle a friend, Festivus endures as a testament to human creativity… for the rest of us. festivusweb.com/blog/compari…
We need to halt all stadium atmospherics until we can figure out what the hell is going on.
Every stadium in America now sounds EXACTLY the same - Zombie Nation, 7 Nation Army, Mo Bamba. Crazy Train laugh. Aretha, McCartney, Tell Me Something Good on reviews.
We need a reset.
The @UofMaryland Athletics Department has agreed to First Amendment training with FIRE after two student journalists were reported to campus police for “suspicious activity” while trying to interview @umterps football players.
Student reporters should be able to do their jobs in public spaces without fear of unnecessary police encounters.
We appreciate Maryland Athletics’ willingness to address these concerns. Public universities — including their athletic departments — have a duty to protect press freedom, not intimidate those exercising it.
For @testudotimes, @JudeWilkenfeld and I were outside Jones-Hill House trying to get players to comment. An athletics staffer took pictures of us, and a police dispatch was called for suspicious activity; a cop and 2 cop cars pulled up, and officers ID’d us and asked us to leave.
Erica Dambach is one the very best coaches that Penn State has EVER employed.
Unfortunately, she has lived in the shadow of other sports for quite some time...and deserves so much more recognition.
She has been a PSU blessing!!
#WeAre
Thanks for the invite, fellas. Was a pleasure to hop on and talk Nittany Lions football, even during a rough patch (to put it mildly).
Better days ahead, even if they’re maybe not as close as we’d like.
🚨 NEW PODCAST 🚨
In this bye week episode, @buchignani joined us to discuss the QB situation, the outlook of the program, and more.

I understand it’s only important to a certain segment of the fanbase (which is fine!), but for those of us who care about such things, we’re still blessed with some truly great teams and coaches at Penn State.
Great win.
I was watching this after a charity golf event with high school buddies and they were killing me for being a Penn Stater. I jumped up on the bar and celebrated like a mad man. Great memory.
The bad optics of this for UMD are NOT remotely worth avoiding the 3 nanoseconds of bad publicity that *might* result from a paid mercenary getting quoted about his coach got fired.
Cost-benefit analysis, folks.

The most recent @LetsTalkPennSt is a must listen. Steve interviewed an Iowa State beat guy to get some sense of what the heck is going on.
Big nugget: New ISU coach lowballed the horrific defensive guys now at PSU w/ NIL so CMC took them out of loyalty.

Look, I know laughing in the face of oblivion is not everyone’s cup of tea. For some, it trivializes the profound. For others, though, it’s about defiance, making your own joy no matter how bleak your circumstances.
If that’s you, this account is spitting fire for ya tonight.
