In 2000, Canada ranked 9th in the world for economic freedom. In 2024, it’s 18th. 📉
Ireland, Finland, Japan, the Netherlands, Iceland, Luxembourg, Estonia, Mauritius, and Taiwan were all behind us. Today they’re all ahead.
The latest drop came mostly from tighter visa rules, on top of weak scores for the size of government (101st of 165).
Additionally, scores for judicial independence, property rights, police reliability, and hiring-and-firing rules fell.

I wrote this book for my own kids and for every parent who wants their kids to think like entrepreneurs.
It started with Bayley's homework: pick who you want to be when you grow up.
Entrepreneur wasn't on the list.
"We Can Be Entrepreneurs" is a permission slip disguised as a picture book. Not about turning kids into CEOs…rather about showing them they can act on something they believe in, now.

Almost every expansion since has been over twice as slow.
