Bumble = women-first.
Women-first has always been our promise. Women sending the first message was how we brought that mission to life in 2014, solving the problems women faced in dating then: unwanted attention, and too little agency. Today, women are telling us the problem is different: too much passivity, too little effort and too much pressure to carry the connection. We evolved the mechanic, not the mission. Now anyone can make the first move, but they only get one message, so they need to make it count. Working to reduce a stream of unwanted messages while encouraging more intention and effort. My wife and I matched on @bumble and met for ice cream on our first date. We lived close enough to one another and could both walk to the ice cream shop. Ice cream was the only expectation, but since we enjoyed each other's company, we went for drinks afterwards.
