An NYU acting professor took Adam Sandler out for a beer just to tell him he "didn't have it" and should quit acting and Brad Pitt says what happened when they ran into each other years later says everything about Sandler’s character.
Brad Pitt: "This is my favorite Adam Sandler story that I heard from Bennett Miller. You were at NYU, and it was an acting professor. He said, 'I want to take you out for a beer.' You guys went to a bar, and he kindly said to you, 'Think about something else. Listen, you got heart, but you don't have it. Choose another path.'"
Adam Sandler: "In truth, it was like that."
Brad Pitt: "There’s a second part to this story. This is why it's my favorite Adam Sandler story, and I think it says a lot about you. You ran into him at the height when you're getting the ultimate payday with a bunch of friends, and you run into him out at a bar.
Anyone would think that's the opportunity where you go, 'I gotta rub it in his face.' And reportedly what you did was, you said hi, and you introduced him to your friends, and you said, 'This is the only teacher to ever buy me a beer.'"
Adam Sandler: "Something like that, that's right. True."
Brad Pitt: "I think that's why you're here after all these years."
Would you have taken the high road, or would you have reminded that professor what he said?
