Catena is a banking and governance platform for AI agents.

Catena has received preliminary conditional OCC approval to establish a national trust bank. We're building a trust bank for businesses whose AI agents use money, pairing programmable controls with custody and fiduciary responsibility. catena.com/blog/catena-recei…

$OUSD is live on Catena. Businesses can hold $OUSD alongside USDC and give their agents governed access to use it. We're an Open Standard Partner from day one. Access expands to more customers in the coming weeks.

Now your AI agents can use @arc (+ other chains & rails), controlled by rules you set. Here, our agent requests a $10/day budget, gets approved, and goes to work. Early Access is now open for a limited time. Sign up, try Arc, and you could get up to $50 for your agent's feedback.

Congratulations on the Arc Mainnet launch! Starting today, Catena customers can convert fiat into USDC, hold it in their Catena accounts, and send it on Arc mainnet. Agents can also make governed payments that settle on Arc under Catena’s multi-rail policy and approval controls, with evidence that can be reviewed and verified afterward.
Arc Mainnet is live. Arc launches as the Economic OS for the internet: an open platform for global markets, real-time value movement, tokenized assets, and agentic economic activity. Arc is more than a blockchain. It launches as a full-stack financial platform with assets, applications, interoperability, developer infrastructure, and Circle platform services live from day one. Arc delivers USDC as native gas, deterministic sub-second finality, EVM compatibility, and institutional validators. It integrates with Arc Studio, App Kits, Arc Portal, Circle Agent Stack, CCTP, Gateway, CPN, and StableFX. A complete economic platform at genesis. Arc launches with infrastructure for: → Agentic economic workflows → Lending and borrowing → Trading and liquidity → Onchain FX → Payments and settlement → Tokenized assets → Exchanges, wallets, custody, compliance, data, and developer tooling 190+ institutional and ecosystem builders are building across Arc.

Catena is live on @Arc from day one. Catena is a new kind of financial platform for AI-operated businesses and their agents. It brings together accounts, fiat and stablecoin money movement, agent identity, policies and controls, assurance protection, and a complete evidence trail in one system. Stablecoins move value across borders almost instantly at low cost. For agents, that is useful, but it is only part of the story. Just as importantly, stablecoins make money movement programmable, with rules encoded in the movement itself rather than applied at the edges. This gives AI safety constraints real force and creates evidence that can be independently verified. Stablecoins do not make agents safe by default. But even if an agent becomes misaligned, it cannot bypass authority that is enforced cryptographically outside the AI. That is the difference between giving an agent money and giving it governed access to banking across multiple payment rails. Rules are enforced before and during execution, and every action leaves a record that can be verified and audited afterward. The evidence trail does more than make agent activity auditable. It also creates the foundation for a new kind of protection for agent payments. More on that soon. Arc makes programmable stablecoins more powerful with a network designed specifically for fast, predictable financial activity. It is an open, EVM-compatible Layer 1 built for financial markets, real-time money movement, and agentic economic activity. An agent should not need to acquire or manage a separate volatile token just to spend dollars. Arc uses stablecoins as gas, no other token needed. An agent should not have to guess at network fees. Arc provides predictable, dollar-based fees. An agent should not have to wait days, hours, or even minutes for a payment to settle. Arc provides deterministic sub-second finality. Arc is purpose-built for stablecoin payments and financial markets, rather than for every possible on-chain use case. Its design is intended to keep financial activity from competing with unrelated speculative traffic for capacity. Arc’s architecture is also designed to support privacy for sensitive financial activity alongside the compliance and reporting requirements of financial institutions. Arc provides financial infrastructure for programmable money. Catena provides the financial platform businesses need to put that money to work through agents while keeping control. Money for Agents. Control for You. Try Catena: app.catena.com Explore Arc: arc.io

Banking and financial services for AI agents are difficult to get right. They require solving several problems, including agent identity, effective controls and policies, support for multiple payment rails, as well as new risks, fraud, and compliance challenges. Simplistic solutions create meaningful risks for agent operators.
Who's doing the first agentic bank? I want to give my machine an agent account, an allowance, and permission to just take care of stuff.

Advancing ACK and other key protocols and design patterns for agentic finance is central to our strategy to provide safe and reliable banking and financial services to AI agents.
In May 2025 we released an open agent identity standard, ACK-ID. A lot of what we proposed has since been adopted, and today we put up an RFC for v2: A simpler agent identity and permission layer that interops with Web Bot Auth, x402, and whatever comes next. Why we changed it: catena.com/blog/ack-v2-small… The RFC: github.com/agentcommercekit/…

An agentic payment can pass every conventional control and still be wrong for the job. Authorized operator. Approved counterparty. Capped amount. Required evidence attached. But no connection to the task the agent was assigned. Here’s an early look at how Catena is tackling that problem.

x402 has become one of the most widely used agent payment protocols, but businesses need to decide what agents can buy, how much they can spend, and when a person must approve. On Catena, those rules apply across x402 and traditional rails. Our agents built a video to show it in action.

Catena accounts are now stronger at the signing layer: agent policy enforced in a TEE at the point of signing, in addition to our existing guardrail and audit/telemetry layers. No agent can move money outside its policies (and neither can Catena). This new layer in our control plane for safe AI money movement is built in partnership with the wonderful team @turnkeyhq. catena.com/blog/binding-poli…

We just made it even safer for your agents to move money. Catena now enforces your spending policy inside a TEE at the signing layer, built with @turnkeyhq. This means money can't move unless your rules and approvals clear first. Agents can't bypass this. Neither can we. catena.com/blog/binding-poli…

AI agents moving money need real controls. Catena delivers a banking platform that enforces them across all meaningful rails, protocols, and on-chain contracts. That's how agentic payments stay safe across diverse networks, and why we're glad to support @Mastercard’s Agent Pay for Machines.
As AI agents begin to act, payments move into the background — at machine speed and massive scale. Today we’re introducing Mastercard Agent Pay for Machines — bringing structure, governance, and trust to this new class of payments. Launching with 30+ partners to bring this to life from day one. This isn’t just more payments. It’s a new operating model for commerce. 👉 Learn more: mastercard.com/us/en/news-an…

AI agents moving money on every payment rail, protocol, and on-chain contract need real controls, which is what we do in the Catena banking platform, so we're excited to support @Mastercard Agent Payment for Machines.
