Coaching works.
Not enough FOSS devs know about @amizi's @waye_dev (nonprofit that facilitates coaching for devs). Just finished my last call with @changeworklife. Still surprised 1) how helpful 1h of reflecting & planning every 3 weeks is and 2) this is available for FOSS Bitcoin devs

Cracking interview!
🎙️I joined @TruthLiesWork with @profpauldolan to explore how to build a team that can disagree safely before things blow up, what to do when tension boils over, and how to create a culture of "tolerance by design." Thanks for having us on! truthliesandwork.com/343/

Now available to listen to on ‘On the Record' by Bitcoin Policy UK. This episode covers our response to HMRC’s draft rules on Bitcoin lending and liquidity pools, including where the proposed rules work and where they still need fixing. Listen here: fountain.fm/episode/xE7boMfZ…
Lending Bitcoin and getting it back should not count as a sale.  We’ve submitted our response to HMRC’s consultation on the draft rules for Bitcoin lending and liquidity pools.  The direction is positive, but there are still problems to fix, including how the “low risk of loss” test applies to Bitcoin and the risk that a borrower whose collateral is seized could face a tax bill on a gain they never received.  Read the full article and our submission: bitcoinpolicy.uk/blog-1/f/bi… @DecentraSuze

Pleased to announce Bitcoin Policy UK is back to full operations after an 8 months consolidation phase. And I am returning as COO. Proud to continue working on advancing Bitcoin in the UK.
Bitcoin Policy UK is coming out of consolidation and I am resuming my role as CEO. Dr Cristina Llamas-Rey is returning as COO. Getting here has not been easy. I have never taken a salary from BPUK, and the organisation is still run by a small team of volunteers giving their time around jobs, families and other commitments. In January, I reached the point where I could not justify taking recurring donations when we did not have the resources to operate properly. Scaling back was the responsible thing to do. The aim was to keep BPUK going while we cut costs and rebuilt around what we could actually sustain. That is what we have done. Throughout consolidation, the work continued and we sent our 2026 Manifesto to all 650 MPs. We also responded to Government, FCA, HMRC and Bank of England consultations, worked on banking access, Digital ID and privacy, and continued publishing articles and practical resources. The way we work has been simplified, with a stricter line on what BPUK can realistically take on. We are still unfunded and our resources remain limited, so coming out of consolidation does not mean we suddenly have the capacity to do everything people would like BPUK to do. There are a lot of worthwhile projects and great people doing important work, but we have to guard our time carefully and focus on where BPUK can have the most impact. A huge thank you to everyone who helped keep BPUK going through this period. The people who continued giving their time, expertise and support made it possible for us to keep moving while we worked through everything behind the scenes. I am very grateful. I would like BPUK to have a paid team and do far more. If you can help with funding, please email contact@bitcoinpolicy.uk. Press release below.

I’m fielding a lot of questions about multisig setups so wanted to share my views and how the Evoke multisig is structured. Firstly, it’s terrible seeing the Coldcard exploit and I have a feeling this isn’t the last of it. Any seed generated in this way is potentially still vulnerable. Multisig removes single points of failure, person, hardware, theft, key loss etc. A healthy multisig should be set up as follows. 2 of 3 is more than secure for the average holder. 1) Your hardware wallet. Keep the seed in a safe somewhere. 2) A separate hardware wallet brand or app. 3) A third party key. This helps with recovery and also handing assets to loved ones after death. The evoke setup works like this. 1) Your hardware key. 2) Evoke App OR second hardware device 3) Evoke Key 4) You also get a Digital Asset Schedule for legacy planning. (This is referenced in your will). The Evoke app generates a seed only visible to you and the key can be rebuilt outside the app. We cannot sign transactions without keys 1 or 2. True self custody. The Evoke multisig is yours. We give you the instructions to rebuild this elsewhere from day one. This is why I started Evoke and our stance on true self custody will never change. If Evoke ceases to exist, the app seed can be reused in any other such as BlueWallet. The multisig can be built in sparrow or electrum. If you rebuild we just can’t step in as a recovery. Try the evoke multisig today and get hands on support and a 14 day free trial. Feel free to ask any questions below or DM me or the team.

Irreplaceable. That's what a room feels like when it's the right one. In an age of AI, automation and everything moving online, we made a deliberate decision to be events-heavy. Not because it's easy, I guarantee it's not🤣 It's because nothing replaces what happens when the right people are in the same place at the same time. Relationships built and business gets done. Last night on a rooftop in London, with St Paul's in the background, that's exactly what happened. The Bitcoin Business Network is built around this. The events aren't a nice-to-have. They're the point. Our next one is in September, and if you're a business owner or professional who wants to be in rooms like this... we'd love to have you! Free food and drinks at every event too, just saying. 🍻

So current state of play between Bitcoin adoption and infrastructure in the USA and the UK. Disclaimers. THESE ARE ALL BITCOIN INITIATIVES AND NOT THE WIDER MISCLASSIFICATION OF CRYPTO with some exception of stablecoins in point 2 below. 1. Bitcoin Mining in the USA is around 42% of the the global market. UK pretty much at 0% 2. Bitcoin recognised as colllateral for down payments for real estate purchases through Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. UK classifies Bitcoin as a restricted mass market investment !!! 3. @Square today launch Bitcoin payments across 4 million USA retailers. UK has around 150,000 @Square merchants with zero Bitcoin functionality allowed yet. 4. @MorganStanley are launching their own Bitcoin ETF with 16,000 advisors soon to be selling the product into their $6 trillion of managed money. UK doesn’t allow retail investors to buy these products and brokers like @HLInvest @ajbell seem reluctant to acknowledge the industry. Someone is wrong here. Either the USA is backing exposure to a horrific Ponzi scheme as per @BorisJohnson comments a couple of weeks ago or the UK is dropping the ball on one of the most exciting and disruptive technologies ever discovered. There is no middle ground here. I know which side I’m on and would urge some cross party discussion with haste @UKLabour @reformparty_uk @RestoreBritain_ @Conservatives @TheGreenParty @LibDems and we @BitcoinColl and the UK Business Network will assist alongside many others listed below. All businesses serving UK customers. Policy and FCA categorisation @bitcoinpolicyuk @CoinCornerUK @xapobankapp @solidifx Non for Profits. @Evergive_ Energy Optimisation @RenewaBlox Payments. @Musqet_Bitcoin @Square Pensions allocation. pensiontrusts.cartwright.co.… Tax software. @recap_io Security, Storage and Inheritance. @Evoke_Solutions Financial Products @hope_currencies Bitcoin Treasury Listed Businesses. @smarterwebuk @bitcoinhodlco @stackbtc_ @XCEofficial @FalconedgePlc Cc @Nigel_Farage @trussliz @kwasi_stackbtc @AlunCairns

It’s been non-stop all day at @TheBusinessShow! 💪 The energy has been incredible and the conversations even better. One thing is certain: UK businesses are genuinely interested in learning more about Bitcoin. We’ve spoken with so many forward-thinking entrepreneurs and teams who are curious, open-minded, and excited about the opportunities Bitcoin can bring. A hugely positive first day, and we’re just getting started. 🚀
