On the plus side, Locria's pretty cute when she's upset.
genuinely how painful it is starting a new route in a VN and having to give a cold shoulder to the heroine you love because her route is finished…

50,000 more words for Lorica
Work on The Witch's Chamber continues. Here's a quick breakdown of the routes, though all is still subject to change. Locria Route: -50,000~ words -11 minor choices -1 major choice -2 endings Phrygia Route: -90,000~ words -1 minor choice -1 major choice -2 endings Only 3000~ words are shared between the two routes, making them very distinct. The total unique word count is expected to be around 137,000 words. The Locria Route must be read first due to the way the story is structured. There are no sudden "Bad Ends" where one wrong choice results in a game over. Each ending is complete on its own, and worth reading. Most minor choices in the Locria Route affect both immediate dialogue and later scenes. In the example below, a choice made in Chapter 3 changes a scene in Chapter 7. The cyan tooltip explains what changed and why. The minor choice in the Phrygia Route has greater consequence than any minor choice in the Locria Route, but it does not change the ending (currently). Major choices determine the route's ending, with careful framing conveying their importance. Do you prefer more frequent minor choices, or fewer choices each with more impact? Would you enjoy optional bad ends with a short scene followed by a game over? #visualnovel #gamedev

Today I messed up a whole bunch of code doing some fixes and accidentally shrunk Phrygia.

A challenge I did not anticipate when making a visual novel is I keep getting distracted while implementing new expressions because my mind is screaming "Ah, she's so cute! Ahhhh so beautiful!"

Not exactly bum state but The Witch's Chamber takes place near Boston. For my next VN though I'm planning on either the Missouri Ozarks or the Louisiana Bayou. (X keeps messing up the pic so I hope this actually posts this time, sorry!)
there should be slice of life western vns that take place in some bum state that no one visits written with the same air of romanticism a japanese person would write about their bum prefecture

X says that my most popular post was this video where the narrator verifies that Locria is "not a little girl."
