Auth infrastructure for humans and agents

Everywhere
Agents don't register their humans for new services yet. Until they do, we've found the best growth strategy is to provide immediate value to the agent with no roadblocks, then ask for signup later. (We don't ask for signup until deploying to production!)

Going forward, "Agents" will be the home for ensuring that your application can (or cannot) be accessed by agents. This will include configuration for other protocols like Poppy, as well as any agent-specific configuration (e.g. Codex, Claude, Grok, Muse, Instinct).

Agent Readiness update for You - Oct 16 Today, we introduced an "Agents" section to your app's config. There, you'll find the setup to add auth to your MCP server, along with an agent prompt to help build a new MCP server.

Use agents to build and maintain your application with Clerk: "List the five most recent sign-ups." "Create a test user in the development instance." "Set the DNS records for production."
Long overdue ship: actually useful @clerk MCP server tools! Give it a whirl. Let us know what you like and what sucks... and direct through X/twitter, or better yet, get your agents to yell at us via the feedback tool. 🤖 🤝 🍪 clerk.com/changelog/2026-10-…

Clerk's infrastructure team is improving reliability across every layer of the user management stack. We recently added redundancy to authentication emails to ensure users can still sign in even if one vendor goes down:
Fun fact - @clerk now has a backup email provider under the hood, so that if our primary email provider has an outage, your auth is still not impacted. Both providers use entirely different infrastructures, so an AWS or GCP outage can't take them both down. It takes a ton of work to get features like this in place, the many subtle differences between two different providers add up across your customer-facing logs and codebase surfaces. I'm not aware of any other providers that do this. Most people don't know about it at all. It's not a big flashy exciting feature, but often times invisible reliability work is the most important work 🤝

Agent Readiness update for Clerk - Oct 14 We've expanded our MCP tools so agents can use it to create, configure, and deploy a Clerk application. Previously, we guided agents to use our CLI. This change allows us to improve the AX we offer through agent plugins.

Replying to @v0
@v0 now has one-click integrations for auth, email, search, and databases. I asked it to add @clerk auth to my app. It wired up the SDK and middleware, provisioned a Clerk app, and brought in the keys. Then I published to Vercel. Prompt to live app with auth 👇🏼
