This is really good insight!
JJ Redick shares a big lesson from last season was learning that some of the qualities that made him successful as a player can actually work against him as a coach.
“I had a great revelation towards the second half of last year that I talked about with my performance coach this summer. Some of the things that helped me as a player are deterrents for me as a coach.”
As you transition from playing to coaching, don't automatically assume what made you a great player will directly translate to being a great coach.
Sometimes growth isn’t developing a new strength. It’s learning when an old strength no longer serves you.

Why does playing high school sports matter?
Because it LOWERS chronic absenteeism:
👉 Non-athletes: 22.9%
👉 Varsity athletes: 10%
The stats don’t lie. Participation WINS.

We added a little something special to pregame. Each home game one of our elementary schools gets the honor of presenting the flag alongside their parents. Love our Coyote community. #CU

Great story and tribute.

Every year on or right before 9/11, we show this video to our students. It’s not only powerful story-telling, it’s a reminder to a younger generation about how life altering 9/11 was for those of us who lived it. It’s only 10 min #themanintheredbandana

We teach our kids to score points and keep scoring points. The magic number used to be 7 to have a good chance at winning, but with the new scoring system you really need to be getting 8-10 to win the majority of your matches.
Unless you're AJ Ferrari bro. And you probably aren't.
This data is based on every D1 match wrestled so far this season.
