Crypto is probably the only market where a picture of a dog can outperform a project that spent millions developing its technology.
And now people are getting paid in Bitcoin and Monero for holding pictures of cats.
When I first got into crypto, I mainly bought high-cap altcoins. I believed good technology would eventually translate into higher prices.
Years later, Iāve learned that attention often outweighs fundamentals.
Itās why I started taking memecoins seriously, and theyāve been responsible for some of my biggest wins.
But thereās one thing Iāve never liked about this market.
Everyone is chasing the next 10x, yet nobody wants to hold anything anymore.
Recently, a few memecoins have been gaining traction through a launchpad that pairs tokens with other cryptocurrencies and uses a transaction tax to reward holders.
While looking through some smaller projects, I came across solana:H9pPKejchJ9LCWpb1P8p4BmrjzCFARUmA7XtJK4pVhCZ and started accumulating around an $85K market cap. Top holders are buying more, so i think something is cooking.
This one rewards holders in Monero, one of cryptoās oldest privacy coins, designed to keep financial transactions private.
Considering how much financial privacy weāre giving up these days, I find that an interesting combination.
And so far, Iāve been pretty happy with the rewards coming in.
Obviously, itās still a tiny speculative memecoin, but I like the idea of giving people a reason to hold instead of constantly chasing the next shiny thing.
Iām curious what people who donāt normally trade memecoins think about this.
Would earning Bitcoin or Monero make you more interested in holding a memecoin, or would you still stay away?
