नागपुर के धापेवाड़ा में हथकरघा उद्योग की नई इमारत पारंपरिक बुनकरी को आधुनिक कार्यप्रणाली, प्रशिक्षण और उत्पादन सुविधाओं से जोड़ने का माध्यम बन रही है। इससे स्थानीय बुनकरों के कौशल को निखारने, महिलाओं को रोजगार और आर्थिक आत्मनिर्भरता के अवसर देने तथा विदर्भ की समृद्ध बुनकरी परंपरा को नए बाजारों तक पहुंचाने में मदद मिलेगी। बेकार कपड़ों से दरियां और मैट जैसे उपयोगी उत्पाद तैयार करना कौशल, रचनात्मकता और पर्यावरण संरक्षण का सुंदर उदाहरण है। यह पहल स्थानीय हुनर को नई पहचान देने और क्षेत्र में रोजगार के अवसर बढ़ाने की दिशा में महत्वपूर्ण है।
