I’ve officially been Gibraltar-pilled 🇬🇮 💊 I don't know why UK founders aren't considering it enough as a place to move to instead of the US, Dubai or EU. > it's a British Overseas Territory that uses sterling > less than 3 hours from London > small enough that the distance between a resident & the Chief Minister is a matter of hours If founders are going to move for regulatory clarity, they shouldn’t have to move 5,000 miles to get it. Yesterday I was at Gibraltar Day in London as a guest of the Government of Gibraltar. I walked in thinking of it as a small territory with a big gaming industry, as per the hype from @CataniaNathan But I walked out thinking it’s the most underrated jurisdiction for UK founders building in new technologies, specifically DeFi, prediction markets & AI. Here's why I'm bullish on Gib: 1. @Bitso CEO, @vogelito was sceptical when he first heard Gibraltar was building a framework for blockchain businesses. The world’s biggest financial centres wouldn’t touch the industry, so why would Gib? Months later, it launched one of the first frameworks anywhere 2. It didn't wait for permission & licensed @Predictstreet in March under existing gambling law rather than waiting for new legislation, then published the world’s first dedicated prediction market regulations in July Predictstreet went on to become @FIFAcom's first official prediction market partner for the World Cup 3. Financial Minister signed an MOU with the ADI Foundation in Abu Dhabi, to plan a consortium with Gibraltar’s banks to issue the territory’s first stablecoin 4. Their governmental bodies are super open, casually open to chat and move faster than any other jurisdiction I've seen I hope that we can work closer with the Government of Gibraltar on a pathway for our @superteamuk founders. If you’re building in stablecoins, prediction markets, DeFi or AI-driven payments and want to learn more, send me a DM

How does this affect my Neopets
Effective Immediately, all organizations using PHP for their systems are advised to be prepared for an update addressing two critical vulnerabilities. PHP is widely used for web applications. These vulnerabilities often provide a direct path to the server's file system or database. If an immediate update is not feasible, it is recommend that organizations take the system offline until it can be fully mitigated. NSA will follow up shortly with more specific guidance.

Have they thought about putting it in rice for a bit?
Lots of Security incidents today, here's some practical tips for those who just wanna protect yourself: 1) UPDATE EVERYTHING - main targets are: a) Browsers - Chrome, Safari, Firefox b) OS: : Settings -> General -> software update; Linux: sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade; Windows: I think there's a button. Do this for any remote home servers & Openclaw/hermes boxes c) Phones: Update it all d) Desktop apps (Slack, Cursor, Discord, etc) 2) Limit web browsing this week: Stay within walled gardens (twitter, youtube, etc); don't click random links this week. Just wait until the patches go through. Do step 1 again after a week. 3) Avoid untrusted Wifi networks until your devices are updated 4) Stay vigilant about phishing emails offering "certificate fixes" or fraud updates 5) Have an iPhone 11-16? TURN BLUETOOTH OFF for the time being until apple patches come through. 6) Code/Dev: UPDATE ALL YOUR REPOS - @charliermarsh has already updated uv 0.13.4 which reacts to the eMudra incident for uv (Python), Typesript according to Claude has equivelant. Tell your agents to go and update all your active repos to update package manager across uv, npm, bun, cargo, etc etc What advice did I miss?

Dear UK Founders, Your friends think you’re living the dream. Your family still asks when you’ll get a proper job. You constantly think no-one understands what your vision is costing you. Some weeks you’re not even sure yourself. You’ve redone your deck 100 times. You’ve had VC calls where they say they love your product, only to ghost you. Half the founders you know have moved to SF because “that’s where the money & momentum is.” But you stayed. Some days you wonder if that was a mistake. It wasn’t. For 3 days in November, the momentum comes to you. People from 100+ countries will gather, connect, close deals & learn. There will never be talent this dense in London again. This opportunity moves to a new city every year, which means you’d normally need flights, visas + capital to bet on your startup's trajectory. But for one time only, it'll just be a Tube ride away. For once, you’ll be surrounded by thousands of people who understand exactly what you’re going through, because they’re going through it too. You’ve bet everything on what you’re building. Why not spend 3 days in the room where people will actually recognise your talent, sacrifice & potential?

My favourite monthly ritual is having to explain to at least one person why I observe the Sabbath as a Christian (and not a Jew). I enjoy it. It always sparks some level of curiosity & planting seeds to encourage others to read the Bible will always be a time well spent for me. Anyway, happy Sabbath May YHWH keep you all 🙏🏽🕊️

2 days ago, I hosted my first dinner in London, powered by @stanforcreators We brought together creators, operators, and founders with a combined audience of 900k+ and worked with household names like Microsoft, Meta, and LEGO. My takeaways: > London has an incredible talent pool, but bringing the right people together takes intention and proactivity > The more our feeds fill with AI-generated content, the more the pendulum swings harder towards IRL communities > You really can just shoot a DM to a stranger to invite them to a dinner and have a great time. Highly recommend Thanks, for coming! @czamaru @aryanagab @sashacayward @alstras @_danreynolds_ Julius Foo, Melanie Fan, Will Holdsworth, Teresa May Koh, Nat Cortazar, Joana Rocha, and Aditi Mishra Feels good to be home. P.s shoutout to @leo1yu for helping make this happen 🙏

One highly curated gathering of some blacksheep misfits 🍽️ Full porting delusional optimism in the UK The internet kids are creating cultural movements again
This British mindset is one of the main reasons why I left the UK 3 years ago, but so much has changed since then. I’m convinced that you really just have to intentionally curate the community of blacksheep misfits with the delusional optimistic mentality of the Americans and you can move mountains. Gotta stop blaming everything and everyone else and start taking accountability to make shit happen. Just moved back and working on this rn, stay tuned…

Growing up I used to think that being a generalist and a multi-hyphenate was the best way to navigate this world. You know a little about everything so you can join any conversation, speak to kids and the elderly alike, you're able to find common ground with almost everyone. You know how to paint; you speak a different language; you workout; you watch all the sports; you read all the books; you know all the wine; and you visit all the places. People know you as the person who "knows everything and does everything". All of this because you have a natural proclivity to satisfy your insatiable curiosity. None of it performative. All of it because you find joy in learning. But the truth is you cannot learn everything the world has to offer. Not enough time, too many distractions and plenty of paths to follow. So, the older I get the more I'm learning that Mastery is indeed, the only way to be great. Who at the Pantheon of Greats was a polymath? There's not one, or two, or even three ways to get to the top. There is only one. The one that people know you for being obsessive over, for being a maestro of. The older I get the more I yearn to know what that one thing is, and I wonder how long it will take me to find out.

> sit for an hour everyday in total silence > put phone on dnd for the first 30 mins of you waking up > go for walks with ear/headphones in > eat alone in restaurants more often (no phone) > stretch with no music/podcast/video on: force your body to connect with your mind
my new life goal is to get bored more often recently I've been feeling less creative than normal, and it doesn't take a genius to figure constant stimulation during every waking minute is playing a big part in that time to start boredomaxxing

Most founders still treat governments as regulators. But what if they can be customers? Just read about the ‘Pitch in Whitehall’ where 6 startups pitched to the UK government, and 2 of them walked off with a pilot contract on the spot. In case you didn’t know, some departments have to spend £7.4bn a year with SMEs by 2028. I think founders need to start thinking more about government funding (where relevant) & not always chase venture capital. As far as I know government contracts are non-dilutive, so you keep 100% of your equity.
