I keep thinking about this.
Memecoins became basically a new asset class, but we still trade them on AMMs that were never designed for memes in the first place.
Wtf?
Memes launch super fast, price discovery is violent, liquidity is usually shit at the beginning and a few wallets can own a huge part of the supply.
Then one whale decides to dump a massive clip and retail just gets nuked.
This is where I think Equilibra can actually change how memes trade.
Around equilibrium you want deep liquidity and good execution.
But if someone starts pushing the pool massively out of balance, liquidity should become progressively less forgiving.
Slippage increases.
Fees increase with imbalance.
The curve starts behaving more like constant product as you move further away.
The whale can still sell.
I don’t want fake floors, sell locks or some stupid 10% tax that basically scams people.
But why should someone dumping 10% of the supply get the same liquidity conditions as someone selling 500 usd?
They shouldn’t.
And this gets even more interesting with launches.
Keep exactly the experience people already understand but instead of graduating into some generic AMM, you graduate into an AMM actually designed for how memes behave.
If there is real demand, let the thing fucking moon.
There should be no floor on the upside.
But when a massive holder wants to exit, the market should make that inventory progressively harder to absorb instead of instantly turning everyone else into exit liquidity.
I think we spent too much time trying to make memes safer by changing the asset.
Maybe we don’t need to change the asset at all.
Memes should stay memes.
We just need much better market structure underneath them.
Memes need their own AMM.
There is comes Equilibra…
