📣 New project launch | RECORD
How do we recognize and confront Holocaust distortion as it evolves—in public discourse, politics, commemorative practices and the media?
B’nai B’rith International is proud to join RECORD – Research and Documentation on Contemporary Holocaust Distortion, a new EU co-funded project strengthening the European response to this growing challenge.
Holocaust distortion can take many forms: false historical analogies, the rehabilitation or glorification of Nazi collaborators, the relativization of Nazi crimes or the manipulation of Holocaust memory for contemporary purposes.
RECORD will bring together journalists, civil society, Jewish communities, researchers and policymakers to strengthen how these phenomena are understood, covered and addressed. Press coverage is especially important: reporting on distortion requires providing context and exposing it without inadvertently normalizing or amplifying the narratives behind it.
The project builds in part on B’nai B’rith’s research into annual marches and commemorations across Europe glorifying Nazism—work that demonstrated both the persistence of these phenomena and the need for concerted action in dealing with them.
Over the next two years, RECORD will combine research with regional workshops, webinars and policy briefings across Europe.
We look forward to working with
@democ_de and the
@WorldJewishCong and engaging our network of volunteers across Europe in upcoming actions!
