A look and listen at Penn State’s lone goal last night, Amadou Kone’s second this season (he has tallied at least one point in all 3 games thus far).
On a personal note, a very special moment for me, my first time calling a Penn State goal on @BigTenPlus.

Match Day. @NUMensSoccer comes into the match 5-5-1, 2-3-0 in B1G
@PennStateMSOC continues searching for a conference victory, coming off of their first point with their draw versus Michigan.
A pair of Wildcats, Peter Riesz and Italo Addimandi, have scored 4 goals each in 2026.

I’m currently working on a story about Amadou Kone’s journey to PSU. His career is fascinating.
- Grew up in Canada
- Played for Ottawa South United in League1 Québec
- 12 appearances at Carleton University (Ottawa)
- 2 pro seasons w/ Forge FC
2026: Penn State’s leading scorer.

BREAKING: Rob Dow states that Penn State men's soccer will not be voting to recede the new proposed changes to the men's soccer schedule.
He added he is not sure how the voting will go, as it is a large figure they have to reach to overturn.

Fascinating stat about Penn State from Friday:
Daniel Peluffo-Wiese made as many saves as there were VAR reviews for Penn State penalty kicks.
(3 saves, 3 reviews)
VAR has quite possibly been @PennStateMSOC’s biggest enemy in 2026.

FINAL: @PennStateMSOC 0, Michigan 0.
A tough test on the road, and Penn State sneaks away with its first point of conference play in a relatively dull match.
With all of the flourishing finishes that PSU has been on the wrong side of this season, though, “dull” is a positive.

It's match day! @PennStateMSOC travels to Michigan in search of its first conference win in over a year.
Records:
PSU: 2-7-0 (0-5-0 B1G)
MICH: 3-4-2 (0-2-1 B1G)
Certainly a winnable match. The Wolverines make their money on corners:
51 corners compared with 29 for opponents.

Friday's match will make it 371 days since the last conference win for @PennStateMSOC.
I take a look here at how Rob Dow is working to right the ship with six matches remaining in the regular season.

Possibly the most notable fact regarding this news is that Grundin was 1 of just 3 players remaining from the Jeff Cook era.
The only ‘25 returners are Morgan Marshall & Joe Sheridan. PSU already ranked close to the bottom of the NCAA in returning minutes from last year’s roster

BREAKING: GK Fredrick Grundin is no longer with the program after a violation of team rules. The Täby, Sweden native was 3-0 as a starter 2 seasons ago, but lost time to Jonathan Evans last season, failing to record a save in limited action.
Grundin had not yet appeared in 2026

Head Coach Rob Dow knows what it takes to win. His process instills belief in his team every time they step on the pitch 🙌
This season, he begins a new opportunity with a @PennStateMSOC program that he knows has the potential to be great 🦁

As always, the devil was in the details.
Penn State was unable to convert this early golden opportunity right in front of the net.

There’s a lot more answers than questions, though.
Rob Dow’s vision is clear, MSOC has a young roster that was put together basically from scratch. Dow only brought one player over from Vermont, and he hasn’t even played this season.
Men’s soccer is only going to get better.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, things aren’t going all that well with another new Penn State head coach…

It really is the same match every time.
They look really good, they lose by a goal. The potential has been there all season long. The kinetic has not.
Next match: Friday, October 9th in Ann Arbor vs. Michigan.
