ABC8 guidelines consensus session in progress. An amazing panel of experts working together for the development of international consensus guidelines for the management of #AdvancedBreastCancer#ABClisbon
Informative talk by @druryal on the key components of education for our #Advancedbreastcancer patients on oral anticancer therapies. Low tech as well as high tech tools can be helpful, and always remember to check-in and follow up with the patient afterwards. Talk about patterns of taking medications with patients, rather than "compliance." #ABCLisbon#ABC8
A powerful discussion this morning led by Chairs Medha Deoras-Sutliff and Marzia Zambon on the pros and cons of oral treatments 💊
Patient advocate Eva Schumacher-Wulf shared meaningful insights into the lived experience, while HCPs reflected on both the convenience and autonomy oral therapies provide and the challenges they present — including adherence, managing toxicity, cost, and ensuring ongoing follow-up when care moves beyond the hospital.
There was strong agreement on the importance of practicalities of education, understanding interactions overall, and providing continuous support to help patients stay safe, informed, and connected throughout their treatment.
