Every day I pass by a small fishing supplies store. It is never open, but through the window I can see all the artifacts of a hobby that I have never once tried. A hobby that derives from a practical need but has long since outgrown it, that lives on as a spark of useless humanity. It brings me joy.

The film tells this story through the history of architecture and design, from the mid-nineteenth century to present-day Silicon Valley.
