Matthew Belloni reports that some Netflix managers were asked to identify subordinates for termination, only to discover that they themselves were being fired. Even more remarkable is the sequence involving Lin, Bajaria and Doug Belgrad: -Lin was instructed to dismiss Belgrad.

Netflix co-CEO Greg Peters: "In the U.S. our engagement is solid and it will allow us to continue to grow. But we know that we can do better. That better is our upside. It’s our goal to go from very good to great on the performance of that slate."

As far as side quests go this is a pretty embarrassing one even if the dollar figure on it isn't super high. -Spin up a big blockbuster studio with top talent and then bail -Acquire successful indie studios and then bail -Pay for a bunch of free games that don't move the needle
Netflix has spent the last few years telling investors that it was excited about its foray into video games. Today's earnings update has zero reference to that business.

The fact that there is still somehow a turf battle within Microsoft over a gaming handheld OS in 2026 is wild. Windows is baaaaad
For the past several months, I’ve been looking into Microsoft’s struggling Xbox business and its new CEO Asha Sharma, who had zero video game experience prior to the role. This is my deep-dive profile of Sharma: how she’s executing her plan, internal tensions at Xbox, and the fight to save one of entertainment’s most recognizable brands.

Never felt so vindicated
"His favorite film is a different Cruise vehicle, Cameron Crowe’s Vanilla Sky, a notoriously polarizing fantasy-versus-reality thriller that he estimates he’s seen upwards of 85 times."

I think this might actually be the best boss battle in the game
I love Gears of War: E-Day, but this Scoria boss battle, solo on hardcore, may just be THE WORST designed boss I've experienced in as long as I can remember. We're talking Quantum Break final boss levels of trash, if not worse because it's far cheaper and harder. No idea how @CoalitionGears allowed it. +Tiny enemy weak spots that are extremely difficult to hit as not only do you have many other things in the way or to concentrate on, but it's flying around, and every attack animation it does every few seconds blocks its weak spots too. + You have to fight TWO simultaneously. + They have acidic AOE attacks meaning the area you stand or around you is constantly deadly. + As if dealing with two already cheap and slippery bosses wasn't enough, there's multiple pillars all around you that constantly emit flames in an AOE circle that kill you too, so you have to worry about those as well. + They have one hit kill laser beam attacks where the window to stop them (shoot them in the mouth) is extremely shallow and small, and half the time doesn't even work or register. + Often times you'll get laser beamed by a Scoria you're not even facing because there's countless other things you're focused on to avoid, or a piece of environment is in the way. + The Scoria are extremely tanky, and even when you DO destroy one of their 6 weak spots, it barely does much damage. + Your AI crew are CONSTANTLY dying or dead, and much of the time can't or won't revive you. + When you finally kill one, the second one does non stop one hit kill laser beam attacks, which might just be bugged or broken, because you not only can't stop them by shooting it in the mouth, but the beam attacks are extremely hard to avoid as they literally track and specifically follow you around, even through the environment. Honestly, it's making some of the hardest Soulsborne bosses I've fought seem timid in comparison. No idea how this one passed play testing. Going to load an earlier save and switch to Gut-Puncher and Longshot (though there are a few in the boss arena) and see if that helps.
