Some speed & memory improvements you'll see with TypeScript 7.1 Beta. We're hoping to land more before RC & stable.
ALT Build times in seconds, from 7.0 to 7.1 Beta: bluesky, 4.48 to 3.89; mui-docs, 22.2 to 11.9; sentry, 19.6 to 15.1; t3code-server, 26.5 to 19.1; vscode, 21.6 to 17.7. All five codebases build faster with 7.1 Beta. The largest improvement is for mui-docs, with a 46.6% reduction in build time.
ALT Memory usage in mebibytes (MiB), from 7.0 to 7.1 Beta: bluesky, 2,017 to 1,698; mui-docs, 8,093 to 4,079; sentry, 6,587 to 5,216; t3code-server, 6,894 to 5,197; vscode, 8,387 to 6,943. All five codebases use less memory with 7.1 Beta. The largest improvement is for mui-docs, with a 49.6% reduction - nearly half the memory.

Cloudflare is taking ownership of tsrs, a port of TypeScript to Rust. It's 8x faster and uses 70% less memory than TypeScript 7.0.
We are not forking TypeScript β we are working with the TypeScript team and as a result 7.1 is already ~2.5x faster, too.
