Utah keeps electing Republicans, but the problems they want solved keep getting worse. They pay exorbitant taxes — among the highest in any “red state” — for neighborhoods where it’s impossible to raise a family, schools that psychologically abuse children, a justice system that plays catch-and-release with violent criminals, libraries full of leftist trash, parks that are unsafe for their children to play in. And when they appeal to their Republican leaders for relief, they’re told that doing anything to stem the tide of dysfunction would be contrary to the Constitution and “Utah Values”. That’s why we started Constitutional Action, to recruit leaders who will treat the Constitution as a mandate for action, rather than an excuse for inaction. Ben Wilson and I believe that Utahns are ready for something better. — but as long as the median Utah voter gets their news from KSL, the Salt Lake Tribune, the Deseret News, and the Daily Herald, we will never reach them. So now we’ve created Constitutional Action News. We want Utahns to know what is really going on in their state, and to catch the vision that they do not have to live like this. There is nothing inevitable about Utah falling into the same dysfunction as California, Minnesota, or Colorado: it is a decision being made over and over again, every day, by weak and cowardly political leaders wearing GOP lapel pins. This weekly show will focus on Utah issues as we build momentum here — but these stories will be relevant no matter where you live, because what is happening in Utah is happening everywhere. We are facing a national crisis, and it will require a national movement. In this first episode, we explain how the project began, our plans to field candidates in Utah, and why outrage has become such a dependable business model for the conservative movement.

without exaggeration: the next time USG changes hands you're going to get some form of universal daycare & overnight the economy will be like 70% "women paying each other to watch each other's kids"
Replying to @extradeadjcb
Right, if you're in a rising-productivity industry you're annoyed by the higher cost of daycare, but it still makes econ sense to pay the Baumol tax. Meanwhile there are whole swathes of our economy that can be summarized as "women paying each other to watch each other's kids."

Men like the Red Barron pizza guy are out there stocking shelves at 5 in the morning to feed their families, with the IRS taking a cut from every single dollar they make. Then that money goes straight to boomers and their imported foreign leeches, who live off our hard work on the government teat. All 100% tax free. This system is not sustainable. It’s not tolerable. I mean even outside of remigration something has to be done about fucking taxes in this country. Tax is a vampire sucking the lifeblood out of young people who carry the whole system on our backs. We’re tired of it and we’re not going to cooperate any more.
"Home care" has quickly become the *most common job in blue states*. This video shows why: Because people are billing Medicaid $80k+ a year for work that they aren't actually doing. Watch this refugee pull into a driveway for 2 minutes each day to trick the GPS anti-fraud system:

Dilu Monger lives in an expensive house with a Range Rover and custom Cybertruck. She spends her time traveling the world on luxury vacations. What's her secret? Strip-mining PA for anyone over the age of 60 who's on Medicaid, the health program for the poor. Gov. Josh Shapiro's policies allow them to be farmed for pure gold: up to 24 hours a day of home care, in the form of a $175k check to the relative, friend or company of their choosing.

The common denominator is that women and leftists are both married to the state
"I'm sick of so many women being in leadership positions!!!" okay, then volunteer! Leadership, specifically at first, typically just looks like volunteering...which is why most people avoid it This is one area that the left tends to be way better at and conservatives tend to struggle with Basically everyone you know who leads things in their community whether it's a church, grassroots group, local politics, sports coaching, school boards, or anything else started out as (or still is) a volunteer They do all the annoying little stuff, setting up chairs, emailing out registration forms, coordinating dates, ordering food, and reserving meeting spaces This is also how it tends to work in corporate environments: you volunteer for stuff and eventually (if your company is decent) your title and maybe comp follow What is exceedingly rare is a role with tons of power that is just bestowed upon you like the sword in the stone because you're the chosen one Unless you luck out as a dictator, "servant leadership" is basically the only kind available

You should volunteer, of course (Especially you should volunteer for Constitutional Action) But yeah the reason democracy naturally encourages rich & poor to prey on the middle is that the rich & poor tend to have free time during the day

oh word, what does universal basic Mormon influencer school look like try coloring in the details of this phenomenon for like 45 seconds and see if you start to feel silly
A little known fact outside the LDS world is that Mormon girls are trained to be attractive to the world. They follow the latest trends. It’s supposed to attract new members to their church.

it's the cost of mom working it doesn't matter how you do the bookkeeping
Daycare is a household expense, not a mother's expense. Throwing out your career for 3 years of childcare is insane.

We aren't adjusting for inflation correctly
My mom paid $160 a month for full time daycare in 1990 Adjusted for inflation, that's $413 today I'm looking at $1,100 a month in 2027. That's 167% more, even after adjusting for inflation. How did this happen?

Daycare rates probably a pretty good indicator of inflation TBH - other forms of unskilled hourly labor are harder to compare across industry & time, capital inputs & work conditions change But daycare is as close to pure labor as you can get - hours for dollars

Why own your own AI? When you can simply rent it, from me, In perpetuity, And I dictate the rules, That you must abide by, To use my AI, Or I ban you.. Why would you possibly want something else?
sam: local inference is a terrible allocation of scarce resources “a lot of people want local inference, and somehow they assume that the problem is solved now because we have open-source models, we're going to be able to run them on our computers, and so we're not going to need all the stuff in the data centre but from a global allocation perspective, actually it's quite terrible to have everybody, like, have a bunch of the world's limited supply of DRAM sitting in their own computer and being used five percent of the time you want maximum utilisation in the cloud if you're trying to deal with this very supply-constrained environment somehow many people's intuition is the opposite of that”

Her whole family getting deported because of their spoiled little brat would be fair and would send an important message. Again, this girl isn't going to pick up a gun and kill anyone, she was being "edgy" so her peers would think she was cool. Make it very costly and send a message to others like her. If you are an immigrant, you do not threaten citizens with murder. You do not celebrate murder. You do not intimidate citizens by telling them they are brave for not wearing a neck brace. I also think the college debate format died with Charlie and it should stop. There's nothing left to debate.
Isa Cayahuga is not an American citizen, and our country should not tolerate her existence in our borders for a second longer. Her and her entire shitlib immigrant family need to be deported immediately.

It's the opposite of course - millennials remember the propaganda being good & feeling the way we were supposed to feel - we didn't know *how* to enjoy dogshit ironically when we were 14 "Based Anakin" edits are obviously an ironic read what are you talking about
the reason millenial nerds feel a compulsion to shit on the star wars prequels, despite the obvious cinematic brilliance, is they are played entirely earnest. there is no jim from the office winking at the camera, which makes them excruciating to the irony poisoned millenial mind

Assuming this isn't just bait (I hear this take from zoomers all the time): It's possible that what they mean is that the prequels' campy boomer liberal morality is *easy to satirize*, and that's about as close to "non-ironic" as anything ever is now
