The worst read in the gaming industry RN is the hate on @TimSweeneyEpic . He fought platforms like Apple charging 30% fees which cost gamers and devs. This includes steam who BANS Developers if they offer their games cheaper on other stores who take less cut. He buys forests just to turn them into nature reserves. Epic store is not NEARLY as good as steam yet. But they take WAY less money from developers and literally hand out free AAA games each months. Does it need time to expand features? Yes. Are any of those factors something that is motivated by 'evil' no. And MOST of all. He's 100% correct that its not 2016. Like it or not AI is existing. And the reason you only see the 'anti AI' comments are because the 95% of developers who ARE using it RIGHT NOW are just scared of the backlash. This doesnt mean they're just vibe code 1-shotting games. They're utelising it to create workflows that streamline otherwise time consuming (and ultimately not 'player experience' defining factors). Stupid 1-shot assets/entire code bases are not what AI is actually being used for. But there are thousands of talented developers using it in a very thoughtful, structured way which gives them full creative control. We all are 'scared' by AI - and what it means for jobs, creativity, and creation as a whole. But it DOES NOT change the fact that Tim sweeney isnt wrong. He's just the person with the balls to actually say what is true.

Miyomoto's response to why AI is good is so eloquent I am honestly impressed.

okay i'll be honest i was doomscrolling and accidentally found a 1M view format i was contemplating on sharing this but fuck it the format is a very specific formula → two animated characters → they roleplay a real situation → the app shows up once shortly → no pitch, no voiceover selling it people watch it like a show it's TikTok slideshows, but animated slideshows were easier to make and significantly cheaper so everyone ran to those but now that's changed i just created 12 different animation styles now just deciding on the winner with Rork Max i built my app in days now the distribution will take just a few more you might not even realize how blessed you are to live in these times so much opportunity

The thing that anti AI people just don't get is that AI creators are genuinely having fun and enjoy using AI as a creative outlet. An anti very elegantly asked me, "Seriously, who the fuck is this horseshit slop for?" I told him, it's for me because I enjoy making it. He thought this was an embarrassing thing for me to admit and with that exposed that these ultimate defenders of art, know absolutely nothing about art. Art is about personal expression and while artists will admit that it's nice when other people enjoy their work, that isn't really the goal. We make art because there is something inside of us clawing to get out. An idea, a belief, a story begging to be brought into the world. When that happens an artist finds whatever medium they can to bring it out. It's not important that others like it. It's not important that it be accepted by the masses. It's not important that some nose in the air critic gives it their approval. What's important is that it was made. This is what the antis don't understand. We aren't making stuff for you. We're making it for ourselves. We're making it because we enjoy the process. We're making it because we're having fun. We're making it because we have a story in our minds and we want to express it. Your approval of what we do is not needed. This is why none of the insults the antis throw will ever stop an AI artists from creating and only succeeds in revealing to the world how bitter, angry, and clueless they really are.

I think there are a lot of native formats for ads in spawn that creators will like and won't feel bad like they can when done wrong in fact @alightinastorm already sold adspace in mog to @Smallzero :))
