The agentic era has pros and cons, but I can just let an agent monitor for any early release and update one of my servers running PHP 🤝

Full details of a remotely exploitable vulnerability in the core engine of *all* PHP versions will be released tomorrow, October 21st. If your organization has internet facing PHP applications then you need to be ready to patch the minute the update is released or *strongly* consider taking the application offline until you can: php.net/index.php#2026-10-20…
🚨 PHP warns of two critical vulnerabilities as emergency patches arrive tomorrow The PHP security team will release updates on October 21 at 14:00 UTC for two vulnerabilities, each rated 9.2 under CVSS v4.0. ⠀ Security researchers identified the flaws as CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619 and described them as remote code execution vulnerabilities reportedly affecting PHP versions 5 through 8. PHP has not yet confirmed the affected versions, exploitation requirements or fixed releases. ⠀ The vulnerabilities were reportedly leaked before their planned disclosure. Researchers said they have not observed active exploitation, while PHP warned it may release the patches early if technical details become public or exploitation is detected. ⠀ Administrators should identify PHP installations now and prepare to apply the updates as soon as they become available.

Heavily updated my SEO improver app Now it tells me what to do, instead of offering me a billion tools I have no idea if I should run or not, or care about When I open it I only see the actionable stuff SEO is an ongoing effort, every day I have some thing to do

My complete guide to LiveKit Agents is out! We build a voice AI agent, add tools to connect it to your backend/db, test conversations, and deploy it to LiveKit Cloud. Very cool stuff! flaviocopes.com/livekit/

Someone asked how I release a new app almost every day. Mostly, action leads to action: working on one app gives me the idea for the next. And once my agents took over the boring parts, like publishing the apps and editing these videos, it got fun.

What SEO Bot did for flaviocopes.com so far: - 224 redirects for broken URLs - helped me identify 60 pages indexed with no internal links added - titles rewritten on pages with low click rate It reads Search Console, Plausible, then hands each report to Cursor

My ~/dev folder had 128 node_modules folders. 59 GB. npx npkill found them in 13 seconds, with each one's size and days since I touched the project. Sort with -s last-mod, press Space to delete. It flags app folders like ~/.cursor. I freed 49 GB! flaviocopes.com/npkill/

My coding agents kept opening the Mac apps they built on my screen while I worked. So I wrote testvm. It runs each build in a headless macOS VM under Tart, where agents take screenshots, list the controls and click through it. flaviocopes.com/testvm/

Inspired by this to create my own extension to fix the GitHub homepage to what I want it to do: help me quickly to one of the repos I'ìve been working on
I asked Opus 5.5 to fix one of my biggest annoyances on Github (clicking screenshots opens in new tab) 1.5 minutes later, I had a working Chrome extension that fixes the behavior. I know this is basic stuff, but it still feels magical that you can just fix things.

Blackmagic Camera is insanely good at shooting videos on my iPhone. I find the built-in iPhone app videos comically bad and fake. But got annoyed by the way I had to export clips from my iPhone, so I created an importer so I can import videos to my Mac directly github.com/flaviocopes/impor…
