☀️ The Sun releases 384 yottawatts of energy every second. Humanity currently uses about 0.000000000000018% of that. We are sitting next to a Type II energy source and still burning the leftovers of dead organisms to keep the lights on. Kardashev proposed this scale in 1964. 62 years later we haven't even reached Type I. We don't fully control our own planet's weather, oceans, or tectonic activity yet. The scale doesn't make the Sun feel overwhelming to me. It makes our current position on it feel almost embarrassing..!
