Built MultiStract over the weekend with my teammate Thijs for the #Fidelity - sponsored by #Solana hackathon - and we ended up taking 2nd place 🏆 MultiStract explores crypto-agility for digital asset custody in a post-quantum future. #Algorand is implemented and was the blueprint. ✅ The core idea: if foundational cryptography used across blockchain ecosystems were ever compromised, custody infrastructure should be able to adapt without rebuilding the entire application layer. We explored cross-chain abstractions, post-quantum authorization models, and how different ecosystems may evolve toward PQ-secure asset movement over time. Because this was built for a closed-source/private hackathon, we can’t share implementation details or the repository publicly right now, but excited to talk more about the broader ideas and research direction soon. 💚

Even with a very small online stake, you still have a chance to be selected to propose a block on Algorand. Thanks to Pure Proof-of-Stake and VRF-based cryptographic sortition, every participating account has a chance to be selected, with the probability proportional to its online stake. The 30,000 ALGO minimum applies to earning direct staking rewards, not to participating in consensus. That's the beauty of PPoS.

To everyone running an Algorand node: thanks for keeping the network secure! A quick reminder to upgrade to v5.0.3 if you haven't already. It fixes a bug that can prevent nodes from reconnecting to the network after a restart. Already updated? You're all set.

Google just made one of the hardest parts of building a crypto-breaking quantum computer a lot easier. We started moving Algorand to post-quantum signatures in 2022. 2.7M+ post-quantum transactions later, no chain has more.

Over 2 MILLION post-quantum transactions have now been signed on Algorand mainnet. 🔐 Another historic milestone on our road to quantum resilience. Native Falcon-1024 accounts are live, and the number keeps growing fast.

🚨 $100,000 🚨 Ok relax, that's not our target price for algorand:native in 2027. But it is the trading volume PEX has done in 6 weeks since mainnet launch! Let's add one more zero to that soon!

Since Google's flagship post-quantum cryptography paper, in which Algorand was mentioned 32 times, many blockchains mentioned have been stacking post-quantum transactions on-chain. Let's see how they compare.

Q: Going post-quantum means creating a new wallet and moving all your assets, right? A: Not on Algorand. Thanks to Algorand's rekeying feature, existing accounts can adopt native Falcon-1024 signing without changing their public address or transferring a single asset. Your assets stay exactly where they are, your transaction history remains intact, and only the signing authority changes. All of this is built directly into Algorand's protocol, not through some workaround. And with 2,000+ native PQ accounts having already signed transactions on mainnet, we're way past the promise stage.
